Screen time is literally the most relevant because it's what gets you paid more. You get paid more because you have to work more (in other words: you have to act more) so you get compensated for it.
What a contract essentially is is an agreement between employer and employee to exchange time/effort/expertise/skill/whatever from the employee for money from the employer.
In a movie sense, having more screentime means you have to portray a character more and longer so the employer needs more of your time and skill therefor he needs to compensate you for that time and skill.
