Hey guys who wants to talk about Anomalisa with me?!
>>
sure, you start
>>
yeah, what's going on?
>>
>that uncanny valley

sorry, can't do it
>>
>>64386893
do you think people should watch it?
>>
i just watched the trailer with the sound off
for some reason it made me sad
is it a sad film?
>>
>>64386893

Looks like Team America puppets
>>
>>64388419

Very.
>>
>>64388215
you have to watch the movie anon
>>
>>64388419
it's a realistic as fuck movie, and handling the truth is hard sometimes
>>
This film gave me a panic attack.
>>
>>64389133
what part?
>>
Pretentious garbage.
>>
>>64389476
About 40 Minutes in, when they both go into his hotel room. Just was too intense and real and, in a way, true. Hard to explain. Thankfully I pushed trough and cried like a bitch when it was over. Just brilliant.
>>
>>64389593
you sound emotionally unstable honestly.
>>
>>64389643
Oh, I totally am. Still doenst change that I loved it. What was your favorite part?
>>
Captures human nature to an unpleasant T. Dialogue's a little weird at times. I still don't know what the Japanese antique represents. Ended sort of abruptly.

I do.
>>
>>64389685
As cliche as it is, the "afterglow" scene at breakfast where her voice changes. It really upset me because I wanted to like Michael up to that point but that scene revealed he was really an asshole.
>>
>>64389793
That was really unsettling. I like that it was still a 'good' memory for her in the end.
>>
>>64389838
Typical women. Wonder how a movie like this with a woman will play out...wonder if it even is possible.
>>
>>64389720
His reviews this year are memeier than ever.
>>
I just watched it today, very depressing but really enjoyed it. Tom Noonan was hilarious
>>
>>64388419
No anon, it's uplifting!
>>
>>64386893
>Losing his face
fuuuuuuuuuuck
>Lisa's voice changing
fuuuuuck

Great movie. Kaufman is an excellent screenwriter.
>>
This movie was garbage. The plot might be sad or in some way touching if it wasn't so brutally boring. I think that the animation was amazing and I know how much detail and dedication goes into stop motion so the animator should be congratulated. As for the film itself: weak dialogue, virtually no plot, and It's basically the film equivalent of what it's primarily made of--clay.

Basically, if you're the type of person that likes to sit for an unfulfilled hour and a half of constantly wondering about when the supposed "masterpiece" that you're watching is going to suddenly get good, this film is for you. If you're the type of person who likes to watch pretentious garbage art films and then discuss their accolades with your pretentious garbage art film watching friends, then this film is for you. For anyone else, save yourself the trouble.
>>
>>64390520
It got good at the sex scene though. But I agree the film is a bore. A comfortable bore I suppose.
>>
>>64389793
That was the most difficult part of the movie to watch, so fucking sad.

>>64386893
The one scene I felt could be cut, without any detriment to the film was the speech scene.
>>
>>64390585
For me it wasn't until he met up with that ex fling of his that I really started to pay attention
>>
Pic related did the voice for all the other characters
>>
>>64390801
It was probably the best idea Kaufman had in this movie.
>>
>>64390801
I'm under the impression that Noonan is one of the finest actors of all the time. It's sad that he isn't in more films.
>>
Was Michael a pervert?
>>
>>64386893
> Michael Stone, husband, father and respected author of "How May I Help You Help Them?" is a man crippled by the mundanity of his life. On a business trip to Cincinnati, where he's scheduled to speak at a convention of customer service professionals, he checks into the Fregoli Hotel. There, he is amazed to discover a possible escape from his desperation in the form of an unassuming Akron baked goods sales rep, Lisa, who may or may not be the love of his life.

> 1. animation will distract people from how dull and inert the story is
> 2. the film takes a turn for the surreal because Charlie Kaufman
> 3. mixture of both

Which will it be, /tv/
>>
>>64390910
No, definitely not a weirdo chubby chaser kind of thing. He just suffered from an intense amount of self-loathing and thus lost interest in anyone that found him remotely appealing. That's what he found so attractive about Lisa, she talked more than he did, and kept attempting to scuttle their hookup, even though she wanted him back. Once he won her over though, she just became like all the others.
>>
>>64391091
>That's what he found so attractive about Lisa
But he was only attracted to her voice, that's how he found her and then immediately wanted to fuck her
>>
>>64391134
Eh, shit yeah that's right. Like when he hears her voice in the hallway. Totally forgot about that

someone post the nudity/sex scenes already
>>
>>64391340
It's a long sequence. Just watch the movie.
>>
>>64391439
Is it as graphic as they say?
>>
>>64391024
It's 3, though the surreal aspects of the film (Tom Noonan) are fairly mundane.
>>
>>64391462
Nothing out of the ordinary.
>>
>>64391462
It's not for kids
>>
>>64391462
More schlong than anything
>>
>>64391024
Wouldn't have worked as well if it wasn't animated.

And it's not that surreal given how mentally ill the main character is

I don't pirate new releases. Only if an older film is unavailable or prohibitively expensive do I torrent. I think its important to support good films so that more of them are made.

Of course you are free to behave as you wish.

Welp looks like im not watching this garbage, only a pretentious phaggot like Kauffman would show two pupets fucking and call it art.
>>
>>64390520
Michael, is that you?
>>
>>64392108
According to the U.S. Census Bureau my income places me approximately 20% above the median for all Households - so I consider myself middle class. But spending $30 on a DVD of a film I've never seen is more than I'm willing to spend when I could invest that money or put it against my mortgage.

wow Tom Noonan is a freak.
>>
>>64392044
It's nice that you want to support it. But just buy the DVD or Bluray then. This film makes no sense on the silver screen.
