I was a man when the first one came out and I didn't find Carey in the least bit amusing. They wrote a sequel to a film that didn't need a sequel. "Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd" should have served as a warning sign, but they ignored it.
The humor just felt different, I don't exactly know how but they just beat a dead horse with callbacks and predictable gags. I think the biggest mistake was making Harry and Lloyd more retarded than before, it took away any humanity they had and it became a game of laughing at retards, which is cheap and gets old very quickly.
