I'm fairly sure Moffat has read it, there's literally a scene in this episode where Moriarty blows his brains out and Sherlock goes "what the fuck you should be dead why aren't you dead" and Moriarty all but winks at the camera.
>>
>>64357602
Remove the final act with the inception shit and just end the victorian mystery with a proper reveal, have the suffragette killers all be arrested, removing overblown feminist schlock and replacing it with just a single wry comment or something (standard fair for any killer in a murder mystery who was partly justified), and end it there.
>>

I just watched the series 3 finale after marathoning the rest of the show.

What the FUCK.

How are Gattis and Moffat allowed to have free reign to piss on Doctor Who AND Sherlock Holmes? Is the UK this cucked that two of their biggest cultural exports are allowed to be ravaged like this by two middle aged fanfiction.net writers?

What next, are they going to buy the rights to all the works of Shakespeare and edit Hamlet to include a gay romance between Rosencrantz and Guildenstern? Are they going to make a miniseries of Beowulf where Gattis makes a cameo appearance as a time-travelling tumblr blogger who calls the protagonist "bae-wolf?" Will they make a Kipling episode of Doctor Who where he falls in love with an Indian and has a child with her called Mowgli?

Just how far will they go before someone stops them?

It had some good moments (and I saw the fact it would tie back to the main series from the beginning) but overall it wasn't the best.

The issue is the same one I had with episode one and episode three of series 3 - it wasn't a cohesive narrative. It was a collection of good moments, but as a murder mystery it didn't tie together well. I thought episode 2 with the wedding was the best as the emotional and mystery narratives tied up together really well. This episode didn't so much despite some good moments.

They would have praised it endlessly if Mary had been the mastermind who explained the whole thing to Sherlock and Watson while they stood there silently and then applauded at the end.
>>
>>64358220
I was thinking about this. Is it immoral for a TV show to use someone else's creation to promote or celebrate some kind of shit that they would be completely disgusted by? Like, forget about what might be 'objectively' wrong like promoting genocide through propaganda or some shit, just about the relation to the artist's own values.

I feel uneasy about all the gay shit in Sherlock, even as a guy with same-sex attractions
>>
>>64358265
>Wait do feminists not like it aswell?
Browsed through twitter #Sherlock mentions and it seems that yeah a lot of women are kinda pissed about either Sherlock "mansplaining" feminism or the whole 'women murdering for rights' sub-plot.

The infuriating thing with Moffat is that he can write, he just also has a tendency to dial it in and write fanfictiony tier knowing bullshit when he can't think of anything else. Heaven Sent (penultimate episode of the last season of Doctor Who) was a reminder of what he can do when he is distracted enough to not put fucking awful winks to the camera in every few seconds.

>Sherlock solves a crime in his mind to get out of having to arrest the conspirators, which almost certainly would have happened in the 19th century.

Still, its funny. According to Moffat, the primary drive which women in the suffragette movement had, was a murderous one which emerged from, more-or-less, being a jilted lover. Apparently, any political or legal inequalities were not written in because it fell outside the 'real' experience of the 19th century woman. It is the real experience because it is through their solipsistic, subjectivity (as it relates to their personal life) that they form an understanding of their hardship. Only this unequal role is given its content by their unequal position in the household, and from this, which partner gets to thrash the other for being a no-good hussy. The suffragettes were given no positive affirmation of their own political or legal struggles, as they still required men to give themselves any definition or purpose at all. And this purpose was a meek psychological resentment, projected from their slutty misdemeanors on to men, which caused them to kill because their bad husbands no longer gave them the security which shielded them from their own neurosis. Its not very independent, any sense of self is still inextricably tied to the men in their relationships and bad, abusive men are not negated through death. Even after death, those dependent women will still depend on those dead men to give their own lives any meaning at all - living women still less powerful than a dead old white man. Its also not a representation of strength or intellect (though Moffat was at pains to say they were smart), as they lacked the wit to think of any plan of action which didn't involve cold blooded murder.

sherlock used to be a godlike book because the character used scientific methods that were revolutionary at the time but common for any given detective today. it becomes borderline cringe because they have to add modern elements to it like "le h4Ck1nG xDXD" and nobody in the entertainment industry know how hacking accurately works or is used

There's a hilarious interview he did (and I'd imagine he's had to comment on this before) where the interviewer asked him "how do you deal with allegations that the things you write are sexist?" And his answer was straight up "no matter what I do, I'm finding it really hard to satisfy people who say my writing isn't up to standard in that area, cause I love women and blah blah blah."

So it was very amusing watching the latest episode for me knowing that he's 100% aware that he's failing to keep these lunatics on his side, because the amount of feminist/tumblrite pandering in this episode was perhaps some of the strongest I've ever seen in ANYTHING. And that includes fucking shit like Steven Universe.

But it's great, cause he ramped it up to such a ridiculous degree that it exploded in his face and now they hate him even more. The man's pathetic, honestly. He's let these people completely undermine his 'credibility' as a writer. Writecucked.

Steven Universe is literally made by tumblr people, it has a pretty clear agenda mayn.

>The unusually strong female presence in a series about a boy – all major characters except Steven and Greg are female – is intentional, according to Sugar. She intended to "tear down and play with the semiotics of gender in cartoons for children" because she considered it absurd that shows for boys should be fundamentally different from those for girls. In terms of plot, according to her, the series is developing towards a far-off end goal, although everything in between is kept flexible, in part, because her own intentions have "changed since I've started because I’ve grown up a lot" while working on Steven Universe.[12]

>"God forbid a piece of media not include super masculine self-insert super powered hero characters for straight males to identify with."
>— Series story editor Matt Burnett in response to fans asking for male Gems[11]

But I dont think its intrusive
Also we all know Matt Burnett is a piece of shit, aside from that the staff are tolerable.
I dont think there is anything wrong with showing Stronk womyn in media, its just if you do it for the sake of it or for pandering it sucks.

I get red flags when I hear words like "tear down" "semiotics" "deconstruction" "subversion"

I haven't seen the show so I don't really have an opinion on the delivery or whatever, but the origins seem pretty political to me - as well as what I have seen of it.

interestingly, Christopher Wallace was a really smart guy and could have been an engineer or a lab technician or something.

instead he chose to be a street level thug nigger instead. dude had too much potential to go the way he did. what a loss.
>>
>>64363712
Yeah I understand that, but it honestly never comes across in the show, personally I have stayed the fuck away from the community who drag things out of proportion. It honestly seems no real attempt is made to push any agendas, its just fairly funny

in five to six months you can probably get into MI5.

The hero isn't even Sherlock anymore. It's Watson's wife Mary, she brought the confused men to the suffragettes to solve the crime and she is also an elite hacker who can get through the MI6 security on her iPhone making Microft, Sherlock and Watson useless.

Mary Watson is hardly even mentioned in the book but because Moffat is the biggest cuck on the planet, completely terrified of offending his tumblr audience the strongest character has to be a woman.

This show was fucking brilliant for the first two seasons and it has now turned into self indulgent feminist fan fiction trash.

This. It used to be a pretty loyal modern adaptation of Conan Doyle's stories. How the fuck did we get to where we are now?
>>
>>64363786
what a moron, who cares about some dumb engineers?

he grew up a street level thug nigger dealing drugs, but escaped and worked hard to become a millionaire and one of the most beloved rappers of all time. now that's interesting, not your STEM worshiping good-citizen bullshit.

This is good and correct. Sherlock is cut from the same cloth as House.

This is the moment i knew Sherlock had lost it

Pandering to the tumblr crowd and their theories, and it's never let up since.

Tonight was just another installment of Tumblr: The Detective. The way the feminism angle was portrayed and shoehorned in was fucking painful.

And i'm not one of these gamergater crowd. If a feminism angle was done right, i likely wouldn't even care, but it was just so in your face and stupid. Even when you think about it for a minute it doesn't make any logical sense

>The killers were women who felt distanced by men, there for THEY WERE INHERENTLY CORRECT TO KILL THEM!
>>
>>64365078
>And i'm not one of these gamergater crowd
you actually felt the need to say that
>If a feminism angle was done right, i likely wouldn't even care
>>
>>64365234
>you actually felt the need to say that

Yeah, because gaters are fucking retards, and actually made things 10 times worse than the were before. Of course i want to distance myself from that.
>>
>>64365336
>Of course i want to distance myself from that.
not the best website to distance yourself from gg by commenting on. maybe reddit or tumblr would be more to your tastes.
>>
So am I just retarded or did this episode pretty much imply that Moriarty being back is all Sherlock's doing?
>>
>>64365732
gg a shit, even full.chan acknowledges it
>>
>>64365732
Us channers. Amiright? Do not forgive, do not forget, etc

You do know you don't have to parrot every opinion you see here to fit In? Kind of the point of being Anonymous and all that.

GaymerGate is and always was hot shit. Worse even than chanology

>And i'm not one of these gamergater crowd
you actually felt you had to say this to criticize this episode
>>
>>64357170
>tfw I was the OP of that thread
>tfw I was btfo by that anon and have since learned that sherlock was a shit show from the beginning

thanks /tv/, you always put me on the right path when it comes to movies and television
>>
>make a group of feminists the villains that go around murdering people to advance their political goals
>try to pander to them by saying it's okay because they've been oppressed for thousands of years
>feminists get mad

at least the episode was good for getting tumblr to turn on Moffat
>>
Complaining about no plot progression in what is essentially a crime procedural is really dumb. It was still a bad episode though. I didn't think Moffat could go any lower, but dressing up women like KKK and thinking that's empowering does it.
>>
this episode was directed by an autistic 5 year old what the fuck impossible to watch
>>
>>64368010
Feminists basically are the KKK
>>
Dr. Who level trash.

>>64368868
not enough blondes+blacks and gays

It certainly had the shitty special effects of a doctor who episode
>>
>>64369058
Yeah. The smoke and fog could be in a SMOSH video from 2009.
>>
>>64357170
its a shame, because I think Cucumber would, if Sherlock was written well, make for a pretty good Holmes.
They clearly draw from the old Granada TV show, but that Holmes was smartly written, and written 100% accurate to the books, and performed even better by an actor who literally had a little black book of Sherlock Holmes details and mannerisms
>>
>>64357837
>that hair
>that nose

/pol/ WAS RIGHT AGAIN
>>
>>64368951

Come to think of it, I'm amazed they didn't shoehorn in black people into the victorian london crowds in the same way they shoehorned in black people in medieval crowds in doctor who this series
>>
>Women dressed up as KKK
>drug overdose 'it was all just a dream'
>fourth wall breaking
What the fuck was Moffat thinking?
