A few things I didn't get with this movie

1. What was with the diversity rant? Was it trying to say something about diversity as a whole or was it just a passing line in the movie?

2. Was the movie anti-gay? Gleeson's character asked the stereotypical gay guy who has a new york accent that he needed help. Was it because he was gay or because he wouldn't shut up about it, or was it because he was implied to be a prostitute?

3. Who killed the dog and what was the relevance of it O'Dowd's character not being the one who killed the dog?

1. When he was talking with the African? The priest was there to talk about allegations of domestic violence but the African tried to divert this subject by going on the offensive and using the excuse of racism. In the same way people say the Irish church has no moral authority to talk about anything now because of the abuse scandal

2. The gay guy alluded that he too was abused and possibly had the effect of becoming a prostitute. He wasn't wrong as he got very emotional when Gleesons character sincerely offered help

3. The Barman, it's implied at the end as he has bandaged wounds from the dog. The point is everyone had a bone to pick with him, the barman probably had the least scorn for him in person but he still harboured deep resentment

anybody else find it wierd how the actor that shoots him in the end wasnt the man who came to him in the confession booth at the start? their voices are clearly different
