There were a few ways that they showed Rey wanting to get out of Jakku... she sees an old lady doing the same thing as her at the outpost, she ticks off the days she's been there on her wall, she wears the fighter helmet and watches the ship leaving the planet. I think they did a good job of showing how shit her life was and how much she wanted to get out of there.

If you think Ren was actually trying to kill her then you weren't paying attention. She only resisted Ren's mind control after he started prodding her. He read her mind without any problem on Maz's planet. Her being able to reach into his mind while he was in hers will probably be explained away by their obvious blood connection. Ren was also emotionally unhinged, so his pull to Anakin's lightsaber was weaker than Rey's.

As much as people hate on the choreography on the last fight in RoTJ (justifiably so), it's probably my most memorable scene. The music swelling with that ominous low-pitch chant, the camera panning right-to-left as you see father and son having a final go at it.

say what you will about ewoks, ROTJ was the perfect ending to the seriesuntil we got the shit awakens which ruined some of the most beautiful scenes like Luke watching his father funeral pyre as the force theme plays, and the whole sense of finality and conclusion when he saw Vaders force ghost as a Jedi and knew that he had been right about his father
but i really love the original trilogy as a whole and can't chose any scene over another. TFA may have similar scenes, because POTTERY, but it is merely an imitation.

It's a shame John Williams wouldn't or couldn't bother to write some decent music for TFA. Too bad, because it's a good movie that would have reached new heights with a decent score. He was truly disappointing; no themes, no melodies, just pompous filler. I've been listening to the OST for days and unfortunately can find no redeeming quality. Even the classic themes were used incredibly sparsely. The final result was barren and unmemorable.
I hope he and his talents can recover and give us something more next time.
