I'll start:
John Candy was a comedic genius. He could perform any kind of comedic role asked of his and his timing was impeccable. His characters always had true heart and soul. He even had dramatic chops, watch Planes Trains and Automobiles, The Great Outdoors, fuck even his two scenes in JFK to see him act the fucking walls off.

His movies were panned all the fucking time. Steve Martin had 10 times the career Candy had when he died.

Because he trashed his own career? Just like steve martin. He also didnt do standup circuits like any of the big names, at least not in the same capacity. His roles on tv shows were applauded and he made the right decision to move into films but ended up signing up to every piece of shit going.

Candy never achieved the iconic status of Steve Martin, Bill Murray, or even Chevy Fucking Chase.
He is 10 times more talented than Will fucking Ferrell but has nowhere near the legacy.
I love him, but I feel the general consensus with a lot of people is that John Candy is the greatest "funny fat man"-type ever, he's hardly underrated
Anyway, I'd probably say that my favourite actor of all time is Martin Sheen, and I know a lot of people probably like him a lot, but the pure charm he has as the President on The West Wing is next level, and it's not like I have to say much about him in Apocalypse Now.
I don't feel think I see many people consider Martin among the best ever, I feel like it's a shame
