I've literally never had a problem with the ewoks. I think the little buggers are kinda cute (like the baby and he one smoking endor weed) and I even felt a bit sad at the ewok screaming in pain and his little ewok friend shaking him but then realizing that he's gone.
Never got the hate when the space battle and throne room happening at the same beyond balanced out the cuteness of it. I don't see whatst the big deal when BB8 gives a thumbs up to Finn gets nothing or the out of place kanjaclub scene happens

Yeah, we get it: it's sci-fantasy. It has several typical themes and character types from the run of the mill sci-fi genre movie.
Remove the death star, instead they are invading Coruscant which is dark and stormy from the emperor's dark sided influence. The rebel fleet is doing space battle with the Imperial forces stationed in orbit, and the Emperor's overwhelming presence is causing despair and fear in all the rebel troops above causing them to lose until Vader kills him and the tide of battle turns.
Oh and Boba Fett puts up more of a fight on tattooine before getting killed or 'knocked out'.
There I fixed ROTJ, it's now the best movie in the series and no Ewoks.

Then suddenly everyone is praising ESB as the best SW and one of the best films ever made which is ridiculous. Is it because of the Internet?
ESB is a good movie but it can't stand on it's own, it needs ANH to introduce the characters and ROTJ to end without a cliffhanger. Also there are many plot-holes involving the time passed between the different acts and the distance between the different planets. It all seems a little too convenient and less thought out than ANH and ROTJ and contrived. Also I find the visual effects in ESB good but worse than ANH and ROTJ and there is also a severe lack of space battles.

You get a shitload of The Imperial March, and the Falcon playing chicken with Star Destroyers. There's no planet-wiping superweapon to be found and the Empire is still badass. And Luke (who seemed in the 80s just as whiny as Anakin was) gets the assbeating of a lifetime. Finally on top of that Boba Fett spoke like two lines total but looked cool and more chill and less extravagantly over-the-top than Vader.

Episode I is the best of them all. Best antagonist (Darth Maul), Best protagonist (Qui-Gon Jin), exploration of Anakin Skywalker's life when he was truly an innocent, great pod racing scene and fight choreography, hilarious comic relief characters to lighten the mood and show how happy everything was before Anakin sexually matured and became corrupted by his desire for an adult, sexual life and turned to the dark side. It was also really awesome that Episode I established how the Force worked and built up hope for Anakin that he'll later betray.

Yes, with regards to their effects and capabilities at the time, they don't convey a sense of Ewoks as being that big of a threat, but in a story sense the idea of a large endemic tribe taking an Empire unit by complete surprise and subjugating them with help from the Rebels isn't entirely far-fetched. They had traps and all sorts of plans already in place. It's a little ridiculous but its not beyond the scope of typical Star Wars ridiculous. Regardless, the Jabba scenes, space battle, and fight/exchange with the emperor are some of the GOAT parts of the saga so it's still my favorite.

I don't think it's really that ridiculous that they win. Losing so many walkers and being counter attacked by a native species that knows the land better than you, is a small target and fairly naturally camouflaged is pretty sensible.
