As a kid, I would shove stuff in the school's floppy disc drives and take the balls out of the bottoms of the mice. Pretty much torturing droids.
This is the reason I enjoy ROTJ the most. It's not afraid to do some outlandishly goofy shit while having a pretty serious overarching plot. To me it optimizes Star Wars.

If droids feel pain, why bother physically damaging them? Why not just send them pain signals. That'd be more effective. Crank their pain up to 11, leave them for a couple hours then come back and see if they're willing to talk.
