It's pretty great. Better than all the Star Wars movies except 4 and 5. There's some stinker episodes, but man, the episodes that features the clone stormtroopers are fucking amazing, It makes you want a movie based on the clones themselves.
It'll probably make you a cry a bit.
Also, skip ALL jar jar episodes.

There's a /co/ guide for episodes to skip. Seasons 1 and 2 have a lot of filler shit and are a bit kiddy but the later seasons get pretty dark and more pg-13 rated.

I wanted it to fix the prequels, that's what everyone says it does.
It doesn't fix Anakin's character, doesn't fix the relationship between Anakin and Obi-Wan, and is still mired by a war a can't care about with over the top lightsaber action.
Oh and it's about as fanfiction tier as the EU, with Darth Maul coming back, the Emperor using dual lightsabers, an alien like that 50s cafe guy that has four arms and two double sided lightsabers, and a force planet. Oh and the force comes alive in like three or seven characters.
It's nothing like the OT, though that's not necessarily a flaw but if you're looking for good Star Wars it's still too close to the flaws of the prequels. The dialogue is better though.

Like, Lucas saw the Tartakovsky cartoon, who actually fit in the plot and was good, got jelly and made his own obnoxious shit, who was just thrown around so he could sell more merch. It explores Anakin's character much better, you actually like him for most of it which is a massive improvement on the prequels where he flips between nicest guy you'll ever meet and twisted fucking psychopath at will.

Yes. It doesn't fix everything wrong with the prequels, but it definitely makes it more worthwhile. Better writing, better acting.

Seriously awesome series that only gets better as you go on. (Seriously season 6>5>4>3>2>1 imo).
On top of being a genuinely good series, it makes Episode III better by about 100 percent. Viewing episode III as the finale to The Clone Wars makes things like Dookus death legitimately shocking. Anakins transision to Vader one of the most depressing scenes in the whole franchise. "YOU WERE MY BROTHER" is a rediculously powerful scene after watching the series.
