There are cultural and possibly genetic influences on social problems, but my conclusion is really just based on crime statistics--poor, uneducated people do not function well in the first world, and engage in substantially higher crime rates and other antisocial behavior. Thus, it's literally idiotic to simply import poor, uneducated people en masse into a first world country.
The boss of one of the company's I work for is all around an outstanding human being. He came to the US about 30 years ago from India to get his PhD, then eventually started a successful business. That kind of immigration is fine.

The problem with that, of course, is corporatism. The poor and uneducated spend more per-capita than the rich and educated. Therefore a corporate controlled society wants exponentially more of the former than the latter.
This seems backwards, but the rich/educated are exponentially more likely to make investments, rather than straight expenditures. Then what expenditures are made, are made on large, quality purchases that are stretched as long as possible to achieve maximum value per dollar.
