Nah, its an alright movie but his performance isn't anything amazing, its mostly him grunting and panting in pain.
Is there a lower threshold for giving oscars to women? Seems like all it takes for women to win an oscar is to just be in a well liked movie whereas men have to act their asses off to get one.

There is no men in the women's category so therefore a woman will win it. Plus I can't remember the last time I thought oh yeah, they give the oscar to someone who deserves it.
It's a massive circlejerk with people being chosen because producers want someone to have that to use in their next film starring/made by oscar winner blah.
In fact I think Thomas Newman got an oscar for Wall E or James Bond so, that's one time I'd think it's deserved.
