There is no man, living or dead, who could deliver that dialogue convincingly. Hayden was set up for failure. I don't really recall him being a stand out actor in anything but he's not exceptionally bad in anything either. I remember watching a making of documentary for Episode 2 or 3 where Hayden delivers a line in a pretty convincing way but then Lucas tells him "again but with more emotion" and then he does a terribly overacted performance and Lucas basically says "yes perfect."
