My dad grew up in Tejas during the 60s/70s and he said Dazed and Confused was 99.9% spot on with the culture at the time.
Having said that, IMHO what made Dazed and Confused so good was the fact that there was no "story". Just the last day of school of a group of seniors, and the shenanigans they get into. This one seems like it's going to have a boy meet girl story, which might turn it into another love story movie set in the 80s. Hopefully this is just the marketing dept. wigs trying to make the movie more "digestible"
