I'm undecided on some Malick films to be honest. His newer poetic all-things-shining style requires you to be in a very particular mood, but I'm still not sure if they would get better or worse on rewatch, though I wil say that TNW and TOL have kinda turned me off watching any of his newer films.
His 3 films before that are pretty good though. I think he's gotten progressively worse over career.

I think they're the worst films in each directors filmography desu, completely shit when compared to their better flicks.

Better with nostalgia, but still pretty fun. Goldsmith's score helps a lot, and though the third act is incredibly sloppy, it's still one of the best alternative, accessible Christmas flicks out there.

Is "L'Argent" more like "A Man Escaped" or "Pickpocket"? I loved the former and really disliked the latter.
Otherwise, been watching some good stuff. Osaka Elegy was my first Mizoguchi film and I'm pretty excited to dig into more of his work, 'cause that movie was fantastic.
