What's up with Beauty and the Beast? Theatrical re-release? New, not-direct-to-video sequel?
>>
Whoa hold on Disney's doing Ghost in the Shell? Oh god damn it I had hope for that movie at one point
>>
>>63989174

>Ghost in the Shell

I still can't believe that's going to happen.

>>63989660

It'll be Capeshit tier without any philsophical content the original story had, they are going to remove any trace of it and we'll end up with a Lucy tier action film for retards to stupid to read subtitles.
>>
DIsneys releasing Star Wars VIII alongside Guardians of the Galaxy 2?
>>

Oh God, they're going to kiddify and ruin it. That's not a movie for little kids.

Big enough to make up for an entire year of flops.
>>

Avatar 2 is coming out around that time as well.

Did you guys even look at the picture? DreamWorks is doing it. Disney is including them to put it in perspective with their competition. Bridge of Spies was DreamWorks as well.

>Guardians 2 releasing alongside Star Wars 8

toppest of keks
>>

The script is already written, filming already started for one scene and ramps-up for the rest of the film in January.

Have you been living under a rock this whole time?

Uh, no. They're included because Disney has been distributing DreamWorks films for a while now.
>>
Did they drop that Day of the Dead movie? I was kind of interested in that one.
>>
>>63990305
You're right, my bad. But distribution has absolutely ZERO to do with production

There's something really scary about this picture/ And I'm not really against sequels.
>>

Fuck, I haven't watched that intro since the year 2000

Thanks for helping me focus my depression major on an intense sense of longing for what we've lost since the 90's.

We'll never see films like that anymore, and it pisses me the hell off.

>What more can they have johnny dept bullshit around with?
Captain Jack Sparrow is pursued by an old enemy, Captain Salazar (JAVIER BARDEM), who along with his crew of ghost pirates has escaped from the Devil's Triangle and is determined to kill every pirate at sea. Jack seeks the Trident of Poseidon, which grants its possessor total control over the seas to use against Salazar.[1]

yup it's donezo
>>
>>63990195
That still isn't helpful. I'm not even a huge anime fan, but DreamWorks shouldn't be making Ghost in the Shell. I want to see a cyberpunk shoot em up crime drama. Not some DreamWorks shit.

Because Disney wants success. They don't want just the fame or just the money. They want it both. Not only do they want to stay in the game, they want to be on top of the game.

What's the best way to go about doing this?

By producing good movies. What kind of good movies, though? Ones that are proven to be a success. Look at Tron: Legacy and Tomorrowland. Disney tries to put out an original, different concept of a movie and it bombs. So, they go with movies that people will already know and love. Star Wars VII is a huge example of this.

The two non sequel movies no one will see.
You wonder why big movie studios put all there money into sequels and remakes?
The market place only reacts to what people buy. Don't be mad at them be mad at yourselves.

why is Zootopia red while the rest are white?

To be blunt: Disney is playing it safe instead of taking their chances and experimenting.

Haha, samefag here to say I guess I'm always living in a depressed sense of intense longing. When my depression isn't the the "numb, don't want to do anything" kind, it instead presents as this intense sense of longing for a "sense" of the past (or feelings from the past?) that I know I can never return to. Things like places, that sense of newness, and the feelings conjured by eras and cultural zeitgeists that sadly don't exist anymore.

And it's not like I don't have anything going for me either. I have a degree from an elite university, I have a high-paying job with a nice apartment and a killer new car, and I'll probably be in medical school by 2017. I even have a cute, athletic redheaded girlfriend/de facto fiancee who means the world to me and makes me feel happier than I ever thought I could feel.

But despite that all, it's still the random experiences triggering involuntary memories and the ensuing sense of longing for the past that gets me every time.

Those dub voices though, I remember watching that dub as an 8th grader right after the Matrix came out. Takes me back...
