The difference between "everything working out" and "having them win in the end" is one most evident in DnD. A good DM (providing you aren't a complete asshat) won't simply kill you are arbitrarily punish you for failing a skill roll. You will have something happen that wasn't expected and not good, but there will always be avenues to success if you are smart enough to find them. "Everything works out for them" is more like what happens with mary sues where nothing they "fail" matters in the slightest and they succeed at everything that matters just how they wanted.

Rey was running away from the imperial pilots fine on her own. Luke was established as a skilled pilot who still needed help from Obi and Han. Rey is the clone of an ancient Jedi. All the clues are there. Her use of the Force/lightsaber comes from her former life.
Clones are still a thing (Hux mention them). I think that Luke found some genetic material in an old Jedi temple and created himself a "daughter". Luke wouldn't view a clone as inferior, just like he doesn't view droids as less than human.

You realize that you're grasping at anything yo can, right? We never once hear her have any knowledge of these mind tricks. She knows about the Jedi, true, but to what extent we don't know. The fact that she is able to use both Jedi mind tricks and able to use the force to retrieve her light saber (all of which happens in a small period of time, 1-2 weeks tops) is some bullshit, lazy-ass writing. A lot of the problems in this movie is that they bring so many things to the table but never give us a reason to care or a decent explanation as to how they got there.

The problem with TFA is that I think it will be just like Trek '09 in that it will be completely skipable after the sequel comes out. The sequel will just be a better version of this film and we'll wonder why they didnt just start there? It feels like the part 1 movie of a young adult series' last book, a holding pattern to take twice as much money from fans for the same amount of work.
