Kids grew up with Coruscant because it's in all three prequels. Disney wants to capitalize on that. We'll probably see it again in books and cartoons and comics, and probably in future films as well.

That's what I like about the Hux and Ren dynamic. It's like the Vader/Tarkin relationship, but turned slightly on its head. If you look at the Original Movie, it's clear Vader was intended to just be the muscle, while Tarkin is the one actually in charge. Even in the other movies Vader is less of a leader and more of an important field agent. Then the prequels made Vader be this super mega important child of destiny, but let's ignore that for now.
They just made it even more blatant in TFA. Kylo Ren is trying to be better than Vader but he's even lower in the totem pole than Vader was.
Tarkin at least respected Vader and knew he was useful, while Hux thinks that Kylo is just a whiny useless fanboy.
