I loved the weird droid that ratted on the heroes in the cantina. I loved how cheap and whimsical the design was, how it jerkily lifted up that little communicator.
It felt exactly right, despite being herky-jerky. If we are to believe that this is the same universe as the OT, then it only makes sense that droids/creatures move the same way.
I can't wait to see it again just to watch for all the practical creatures in the corner of the frame. Despite the flaws, they really nailed the details that make Star Wars feel like Star Wars.

I was really disappointed by Snoke.
To use an obvious parallel the Emperor in ESB, regardless of it's the new or old version, barely moved and his intense stare emoted enough.
Snoke on the other hand moves too much and has movements that they typically give to cgi characters to give them more "character" like hands that gesture a bit too much or tilting and snarling facial features etc.. felt like a disney animated villain right there.
He would be 10x more menacing and impressive if he barely moved and just let his voice convey his character.
Also they were all too proud to make him cgi even though it didnt really seem that necessary. He would be better off with practical effects.
