The Phantom Menace was essentially for them, as he allowed them to be on set, name things and help designing them, essentially using them as a test market to bring new and younger fans into the fold, forgetting that most kids don't want to be Robin or Short Round, they want to be Batman or Indiana Jones, and that kid characters should be reduced to sidekick roles at best.
