The only reason people are liking this, is because it isn't as bad as the prequels.
The movie on its own is painfully mediocre.
Just saw it, i enjoyed it and accept it as a proper addition.
BB-8 was qt
I liked Rey, headstrong hero
I liked Fin, funny, really rooting for him despite his faults
Liked the luke hunt idea, great cliffhanger ending
Battles were tight. Dope costumes and imagery as expected
Traitor trooper was boss
Liked kylo ren up until he took his fucking helmet off and began CRAAWWWWLLLINNGGG
Phasma felt wasted
Snoke has a retarded name
Carrie fischer gave an awful performance as expected

>>63843191

>>63841068
Yeah, just got back from it.
It's thoroughly mediocre, I'd give it about a 6 maybe 6.5.
Visually it's very good, but the story is a rehash of Ep IV, the writing it bland, the script was clunky and full of ass pulls, the pacing is rushed yet not consistent and the acting was hit and miss. The characters were weak, Rey is a complete Mary Sue with a weak actor (probably the worst part of the movie) and the villain is pathetic.
The movie is fun to watch if you weren't expecting anything deep and are happy to turn your brain off. If all you care about is original trilogy fan service then you won't be disappointed, but as a movie standing on it's own merit it's absolutely mediocre. It wasn't a waste of the ticket price, but I've little interest in seeing it again.

And Finn was just a complete insert of some black buffy character into star wars.

Finn isn't a character, he is literally a stereotypical nigger and acts like one which is hilarious since he is supposed to be a stormtrooper.
Poe hard to say, he feels let down by the script more then anything else.

Finn grows as a person from wanting to run from the First Order to fighting them.
Rey goes from wanting to go back Jakku to wait for her parents, to being an almost Jedi.
Poe was in the movie for like 5 minutes total, so no surprise there.
There was no visible development for Ren, but we saw his motivation to live up to Darth Vader, and his failing miserably. Next movie will be his development into an actual big bad.
>>63844741
ahha yeah that scene was dumb as hell. that tentacle monster seemed totally out of place

I would say I agree with all your points except on Ren or Fischer.
Ren without the mask struck me as the idea of an emo teen Jedi like Anakin but done well. I hate everything about Driver yet somehow I enjoyed his performance, especiallywhen he killed his dad on the bridge, that was some very good acting tbqh.
Fischer wasn't horrible but she felt outclassed at this point, considering the originals were legitimately b-tier films in terms of the acting talent and that's what she brought to the table. Still perfectly adequate though

>Was anyone else bothered by how quickly Finn just stops being a stormtrooper, I mean come on. They say in the movie that they are practically raised from a very young age to be the best soldier.
I didn't mind that.
It's the premise for his character, so them not going in huge details about it didn't bother me.
Also it is the first time in Star Wars history that they have tried to humanize a Stormtrooper.
What pissed me off was that they turned him into comic relief and decided to go with MaRey Sue instead as the main character
Think about it: you could've gotten a trilogy about a Stomtrooper becoming a Jedi. That would've been pretty neat.
>>63845262
He was on sanitation duty for his whole life. That was his first combat deployment, ever. He just couldn't handle his best friend dying right in front of his eyes and the slaughter of civilians. Basically he got instant PTSD, shit happened to people in Vietnam and some of them even abandoned the army, like Finn did.
I honestly disliked how JJ portrayed the mind reading scene, which is basically just Rey and Ren staring at each other for like a minute without anything happening. The last one with the helicopter shot also was a bit meh, though maybe I'd have liked it more if I wasn't spoilered.
Everything else felt pretty well done, though I also felt like the movie lost a bit of steam in the end and Rey was a bit shallow as a character.
>>63845254

dude, jurassic world made over a billion and the transformers movies keep out grossing each other.
Predictions:
Kylo was weak because Snoke was intentionally holding him back until the thing that Snoke believed to be the main threat to his hold over Kylo (Han) was dealt with. That's why Kylo is off to 'finish his training' at the end of the movie.
I think both he and Rey are the only two that can contest Snoke's power, which is why he will intentionally keep Kylo/Ben from under performing compared to his potential. I think him trying to either tempt Rey to serve under him or be destroyed will be a plot point later.
Rey is Luke's daughter. She was left on Jakku when Kylo went and killed the rest of the trainees for her protect, and probably had her memory wiped or was too young to remember anything. This explains her having some ability with the force/lightsabers. That or she was given up by Luke to hide the fact that he had a daughter and her adoptive family abandoned her for whatever reason, perhaps to protect her for the reason above.
Also I think Kylo will redeem himself at somepoint and will take down Snoke with Rey.

I think Kylo was a better character than Rey.
I think it would have been better if the first time he took off his helmet was the confrontation with Han.
The hunt for Luke was a good idea, but the whole "missing map piece" made no sense at all. The map literally had the path drawn out and the end location was within BB8's piece. they didnt need the rest of the map.
I dont know what you refer to with "traitor trooper" but if it was that baton guy that Finn fought then I must disagree. That made no sense, why would this random trooper have this weapon to fight a light saber?

>>63846622
To me it symbolizes that Kylo is gonna be a sort of anti Anakin. They humanized him in order for him to turn to the light by the end of the trilogy. Then again he did kill Han Solo, and the point was made that EVERYONE witnessed his evil act. Maybe that was the potential turning point and by him killing Han, he has turned to the dark side for good.
>>63846618

I guess, but that scene where they finally brought the map together mad it look like it was a massive section of the galaxy. A better analogy would be if the map was a cutout of Asia and a pinpoint in Siberia. But I get what they were going for I just wish it was depicted in a different way.
Please don't tell me I'm the only one who noticed the overly obvious symbolism with Kylo and Han on the bridge.

I know this is my inner /pol/ going off, but how do they keep fucking getting away with it?
This fucking bullshit kike propaganda is nothing more than an attempt to part foolish goyim from their money.
If Abrams had been born in 1940's Germany we wouldn't be having this problem.
>>63846871
>it's not like anyone would have criticized him for being unusually bad at aiming.
they would in this movie.
>>63846861
To normies, Killing Han makes Kylo irredeemable. If he turns, it will be in death.
>>63846871
He was too caught up in his feelings I guess.
>>63843842
Chewie shot him in the gut and FN2187 got a hit on his sword arm. He was not on his A game when he was fighting Rey and for the first half he was pushing her back constantly.
>>63846850
In the star wars universe only about half of the galaxy is mapped
>>63846925
I don't know, maybe there were going for ANH style ending where the main bad guy's situation is unknown.
If that was how they killed off Kylo it'd be fucking retarded.
>>63846861
I too liked the idea of him eventually turning to the light, but that scene definitely seemed to symbolize that he killed the light in him along with his father.
>All these people complaining about Kylo Ren
Okay, maybe I misinterpreted what the movie was trying to tell me, but I never got the feeling that I was supposed to be scared or intimidated of him.
From the moment he started slashing the console I instantly characterized him as a whiny, childish villain who was so insecure about his lack of real power that he was willing to do anything to get people to think he was actually evil. His hero worship of Darth Vader also gave me that impression—Vader is everything he can never be, so he treats Vader like a god.
I think this kind of fucked up how I viewed the rest of the movie. Him getting rekt by Rey during the torture scene felt natural, because I never really considered him that powerful. His moment with Han seemed to be more of a "Hey, killing your dad is evil, so I can do that and then be evil, r-right?" type of thing than a "hello audience, I am evil" type of thing. A lot of the things that are really pissing off other people aren't making me angry at all.
I don't know. I just never got the feeling that Kylo was supposed to be a real threat.
Should I watch Star Wars A New Hope?
Is this a bad franchise to start when you're older?
>>63844875
Fucking please. The whole first act with Jabba's palace is boss. The gang's all back together, slowly but surely we realize, in a hostile new (yet obv familiar) environment. And later we have the three simultaneous angles on Battle of Endor, which is actually PACED decently to accommodate the very different tempos. And plenty of secondary characters (and gear) are back as well, in a way that makes sense and doesn't feel forced or rushed, unlike initial impressions of another film.
Literally the only reason why people actually feel obliged to hate ROTJ is the ewoks. For a third installment whose principal function is to bring the larger story arc in for a safe landing, it does perfectly fine. In fact, let me go a bit further: it's one of the better "third installments" in ANY film franchise, that I can think of - If things are really going to fall off the rails, this tends to be the film where it happens. Paradoxically, the opposite is true of TV seasons, because they tend to have written more material (not every bit of which has to be gold), and really found a voice for an ongoing narrative that isn't expected to be over by this point.
>>63846998
you are correct. Anons saying otherwise are fucking retarded.
>>63847005
no, the original 3 are not only good star wars movies, they're excellent for anyone with an interest in film.
a New Hope is especially an editors wet dream. At least when you read the backstory.
>>63847005
No, its still enjoyable
>>63841068
In my humble opinion,
PROS
>Poe and Finn are nice characters
>The acting was nice
>The visuals were beautiful
CONS
>Unoriginal plot (way too unoriginal t.b.h.)
>Rushed development
>Rey is too OP
>Main villian (Kylo Ren) is a whiny faggot (no motivation)
>Too much nostalgia-pandering
>Death Star 3.0
>Many plot holes (inb4 "the next movies will solve them")
>No contextualization (what is the Republic? why it isn't the same as the Rebellion?)
Overall - 6.5/10
>>63846969
Finn shouldn't have been able to get any hits on him even if he was injured. Finn was just a below average storm trooper with no experience.
>>63846998
It does seem apparent that Kylo is not very powerful...yet. He lacks discipline and is very insecure, which makes him weak. We've seen his power when he is focused, he's no slouch. If he completes his training with Snoke he will become significantly more powerful.
>>63844741
The very first thing I thought of was Meryl's crew when those mercs showed up
>>63846984
>If that was how they killed off Kylo it'd be fucking retarded.
yeah he's definitely still alive, but I just thought the timing seemed way off
Mediocre in a way its way worse than the prequel trilogy if you forgive it for dumb shit like jar jar etc.
Characters build on merchendise.
>>63844318
Remember when the marveldrones/redditors thought Age of Ultron would make 3billion dollars and beat Avatar?

First Joss now JJ, Jim is ruthless.
>>63847105
>Kylo Ren no motivation
I think he does have a motivation it just doesn't make much sense. He wants to return the empire to its former glory and finish whatever Darth Vader started (killing all the jedi? just ruling the galaxy? some new unknown thing Vader was doing?). It doesn't make sense because you'd think he would know Vader also redeemed himself.
I think Kylo didn't get Vader's full story or he's just obsessed with the Empire/the darkside
>>63847105
>>Main villian (Kylo Ren) is a whiny faggot
I liked this aspect of him, it was interesting to see a dark side user who was more bark than bite.
>(no motivation)
His motivation was to gain power to remedy his insecurities.
>>63847177
That is my major gripe with this movie. The pacing and editing made the movie seem very rushed.
>>63846998
Well, the movie does go out of its way to show him as powerful, too. At least that's what I think. He has a new kind of lightsaber, knows how to stop blaster fire midair using the force, read minds using the force, and is the only force user for like half the movie.
how much do you think finn got paid when he was a janitor?
>>63847269
>read minds using the force
this was the only thing that made me think "wow this guy could be a serious threat."
Could Kylo's mind reading abilities be the reason he and Han had a falling out?
>>63847105
>what is the republic
really dude?
>>63847246
>It doesn't make sense because you'd think he would know Vader also redeemed himself.
I think they're gonna bring that up during some big confrontation (probably with luke in it) as a "did you know" kind of thing that destabilizes him for a crucial moment
>>63847246
>>63847251
I thought "being like Vader for the sake of it" was a kinda shallow motivation desu.
>>63847378
They could've expanded more on the topic.
>>63843111
This review nailed it. The movie had its good and bad points, but I enjoyed it except for Darth Emo.
>>63847436
it wasn't "for the sake of it." Kylo was insecure because he felt weak.
>>63847436
Kylo is totally trying to be starkiller, just look at his costume and his why-was-vader-not-my-daddy thing
>>63843225
I bet these girls have seen a lot of action.
>>63847478
Well yeah, I think that's the only thing having watched the prequels is important for. Aside from quality contrast of course.
>>63843842
>seriously Ren seemed like a little bitch in this movie.
Because he is. That's the point. He's insecure as fuck.
So how many years after RotJ is this supposed to be? ~40? So that would put the Clone Wars and the end of the Jedi about 60 years ago.
How come everyone seems to have no recollection of the Jedi or what went on during what was probably the most tumultuous ~25 years (AotC-RotJ) in the history of the galaxy?
I understand Jedi haven't been around within Rey and Finn's lifetime, but you'd think they'd come across things (space internet, old newspaper, etc.) or people that would tell them about them.
>>63841068
Shitty moments:
- hitler salute
- ren's so evil, he kills his dad, look at how evil he is guys
- several endings
- penultimate ending is a happy ending, despite ENTIRE CIVILIZATIONS having been destroyed
- dat lingering close up of Hamil's face, was awkward as shit
- Hamil's hair
- remember how we replaced the death star with a bigger death star? Well we thought we'd surprise you and replace that death star with a bigger death star
That's all I could think of. Decent pacing, no robots making retardedly annoying sounds, so the main pitfalls of the other six were avoided. Really, really enjoyable. Like all other star wars stuff, this is just a vehicle for selling toys to kids, so expecting something great is inane.
>>63841068
It's trying hard to be everything that made episode 4 a classic and miserably fails at it.
They better fucking make VIII a lot better.

I mean, why the Republic fell? what is the First Order trying to achieve? why the Rebel Army isn`t the Republic Army if the rebels founded the new republic?
I unironically believe the prequels had potential. I thought the "politics" aspect of them was a good idea. It was poorly executed tho.
>>63847267
it seemed like this whole movie took place over like 2 days.
also the fact that Fasma turned off the shields so willingly seemed kind of lazy
>>63845457
>Also it is the first time in Star Wars history that they have tried to humanize a Stormtrooper.
I felt more for this guy in his 30 seconds of screentime than I did for Finn over the course of the entire movie.
>>63847781
I agree that the politics are too vague in this one.
Like that thing blondie mc blonde blurts out during his hitler speech about "the order of disorder" or something in reference to the republic... what does that mean? It's so generic bad guy worldview with no detail at all.
But I still thought the movie was awesome, this entire thread can sue me.
>>63847985
I know calling people autists is a meme
but seriously, what
>>63841068
Somewhere between a 6.5/10-8/10 is an acceptable rating for it.
Worth seeing imo but it has its flaws.
Why did the FO attack the Republic instead of the Resistance themselves? It seemed like the Republic was fine with them being the Empire part 2 as long as they didn't do shit like blow up an entire system.
>>63848003
From what I understood, The First Order is just the remnants of the Empire.
The Resistance is not the Rebellion/Republic, but they are backed by the Republic. The Resistance is, I believe, the people who are still living under the First Order or in proximity to them that are fighting back to keep them from growing and Leia and the Rebel veterans are helping because they want to see the Empire gone for good.
>>63847781
>>63848003
That part is for sure retarded especially when you take the " Überdeath Star " in count.
So it seems we have the New Republic on the one side nad the New Order on the other.
And while the Empire in its prime needed a lot of wealth and workforce to build two death stars secretly, that New Order guys have the ressources to build an even bigger Deathstar for like 20-30 ? years and no one at the Republic is doing anything against it or even witnesses the construction.
>>63848054
There was just such passion in his line. You could feel the anger, the sense of betrayal and the pang of loss this guy felt in the face of the traitor that got so many of his comrades killed. These were men and women that lived together and trained together since they were children. They broke bread together, traveled the stars together, fought terrorists together. And then suddenly one of their own goes rogue and winds up getting thousands upon thousands of his fellow soldiers killed.
And even then, he didn't use his gun. The stormtrooper could have easily just shot Finn with his blaster. But no, that was too easy. He wanted to fight the man that had cost him his friends one-on-one, man-to-man, and so came at him with the closest thing he had to a lightsaber. This was the face of a man with nothing left to lose.
>>63848073

>>63848073

That something was the Republic capital apparently. Shoulda just fired it at Hoth or some irrelevant outer rim shithole
>>63848471
They should have spend the money on more Tie Fighters.

Not mentioning that the Room where you can disable the Shiled with one click is not secured or the controls in general at the main bridge.
>>63848598

>>63848689
>A FRACTIONAL REFRESH RATE ANON
Yeah...that..part
>>63848725
Snoke is fucking shit. Give us Sheeev
With Kylo getting his ass kicked and being all scarred at the end, he's going to be all Vader-y and badass in the next movie.
That much is obvious. The potential is there, they're just building him up to it.
>>63847436
He fears he is less powerful than his grandfather. His mom and dad were not force users. Who else does he have to look up to? I thought Adam Drivers performance was the best in the whole film.
Showing his face during the scene were Rey cucks his mind read was great. People think it should have been later, but that scene shows you how insecure he really is. It's a character flaw, but that is character writing 101.
Finn felt forced most of the movie. A "good" guy but raised his whole life to be a stormtrooper. Maybe they'll expand on his role later, but he was like a weak version of Han Solo rather than a Jedi (Which the trailers seemed to hint)
Rey im not sure yet, she cried a lot but it would be interesting to see a female Jedi.
I just want more Kylo Ren, he was my favorite new character.
>>63848812
>Snoke
You mean Darth Gollum. Honestly of all the fucking names they could imagine. Snoke.
>>63849078
Yeah Kylo is great. He's just really powerful but he's trained poorly so he fucks up a lot. He's along the lines of what Anakin should've been.
The scene where he's punching his wound to keep him amped up on anger is pretty sick. Definitely the best part of the movie.
>>63849253
>The scene where he's punching his wound to keep him amped up on anger is pretty sick.
I think he did it to stay conscious with his bleeding wounds.
>>63849320
The pain strengthens his connection to the dark side. Why do you think Sheev kept Vader in that fuck awful suit?
>>63841852
Nah, the humor wasn't nearly as forced and stupid as a Marvel movie
>>63849409
Because without it Vader would die. Come one thats Star Wars basic.
>>63849156
>Darth Gollum
Oh godamn it now thats gonna be stuck in my head whenever I see him.
>>63841852
Wouldn't call it a let down, but was pretty accurate. Now that I think about it, Guardians of the Galaxy *was* a better Star Wars movie.
>>63849484
Sheev could've given him a much better suit that didnt affect his breathing or cause him pain all the time.
Pain is a strong emotion used by the dark side is all I am trying to say.
>>63841852
this anon gets it, except the casting for TFA isnt marvel tier.
>>63849550
Vader as the second in Command of the Empire could have easily made himself another suit.
But he looked good in that suit and for me thats the only thing that counts about that.
>>63847269
>new kind of lightsaber
Dude he just built it wrong.
It's unstable as fuck and needs exhaust vents.
>>63843636
How bad are you with context clues? Hell you didn't even need them they stated he was alive.
>>63847246
I'm hoping for a kind of situation where, as the child of war heroes, nephew of the new master jedi, and grandson of an Anakin that has been talked up by Luke, only sharing the real story of Vader with a few people, Kylo felt a lot of pressure to excel and wasn't as powerful as his peers. Simple, but suitable. I can't really see why he would decide spaze nazis are a good idea though.

Leah is a force user. Dumbass.
It really bothered me we know nothing about the empire. How strong their army is, do they have the same amount of soldier than the republic ? How many planet are they controlling ? Are they winning the war or struggling to stay alive.
There's also a lot of retarded shit like troopers's helmet filtering smoke but not gas, the sith being so weak someone completly untrained can beat him, R2D2 not showing the the map sooner ... At least I like most of the character. It was decent but it could have been a lot better, it felt like a giant teaser for ep VIII and IX.
>Darth Snoke
top kek
>>63847781
>>63848003
As others have said, all the politics of the prequels got stale, and the OT didn't need to establish it's political situation beyond telling the Republic is dead, the Empire is in power and the Rebellion is doing what it can to fight it. But TFA isn't like KOTOR or anything set in a different time in the universe, and it should've taken some time to get us grounded in what the fuck was going on. First Order, Resistance, Republic, it all felt like a clumsy afterthought, like the setting and overarching conflict deserved no attention.
It would've been simpler to have a fractured Empire and rebels turned New Republic.
>>63841068
If you like A New Hope, you will like the Force Awakens, because they're literally the same movie.Film opens with good guys getting routed by bad guys, but a droid manages to escape with some vital information.
Droid wanders around a desert planet until it finds our Force-sensitive protagonist, who, we will later discover, has some deep connection to the overall plot.
Bad guys eventually track them down, but the protagonist and the droid get away in the Millennium Falcon.
Protagonist has an old man as a mentor, who explains to them that the Force is real. This mentor is later killed by the big bad guy, and this is tragic because the two characters once meant a lot to one another.
The bad guys, in a vulgar display of power, use their super weapon to obliterate a planet because the people there had good guy sympathies.
The good guys, operating from their secret base, launch a counter-offensive against the super weapon. And end up destroying it just as its about to fire on them in return.

The toxin detail was so unnecessary. I would've felt some real tension if they were actually completely backed into a corner, and some real relief when Han and Chewie showed up.

It wasn't horrible but I wasn't blown away either.

>"Your eyes are familiar"
>Poe is a good pilot and was born 2 years before the battle of Endor
Poe confirmed for son of Luke Skywalker
Finn confirmed son of Lando Calrissian
Now that is done with, let us address the elephant in the room...Finn.
Now, we all know that Finn/Boyega is black, a darkie. It's obvious this is just a ploy by Disney to promote progression, but at what cost?
We could have had Poe the son of Skywalker be the main character, but no, we had to waste our time on developing a Mary Sue and The Nigger.
Discuss,
>>63850487
What exactly is that which Vader started that Ren wants to finish and why does he need to find Luke to do it?
Its cant be the elimination fo the rebels, it cant be the death of Luke as Vader saved him in the end.
Is it the total domination fo the Dark side? But Vader already achieved that in episode 3.
What is it then?

"The prequels didn't feel like a Star Wars movie,"
Oh no, they FELT like star wars movies....just badly done.
the pacing, editing, camera work, music, ect gave it a star wars feel. As well as some shinging action scene in over all badly done films.
TFA.....its like JJ ABrams star trek mixed with a marvel movie and Jurrassic world, a souless cash in assembly line movie with no sense of adventure, scale, tension, humanity, doom, wonder, fantasy, ect
it was a ran together mess with out of place shots and scene that looked like shitty versions of other scifi series and everything in it was shallow and mellow dramatic and even the fucking music sucked.
at least the prequels had great music.

Except Ronan knew exactly who he was and was a zealot. Kylo is the first character we see being seduced by the light side and is suppressing it by doing terrible shit. Did anyone else not watch that scene?

>at least the prequels had great music.
So disappointed by that in the new Movie. I mean i didnt expetced the next Imperial march but even Episode I had Duel of the Fates and Episode III Palpatines theme,

>especially TRAITOR /tv/ has officially dubbed TR-8R
Hey disney intern. Put it on wookiepedia and tell US more about the exploits of the mysterious /tv/ board and its memes

He is not surpressed by the light side. He was on the light side at the beginning and than moved the typical dark force way.
Until now we never saw someone who was a Sith/Drak force user from the beginning and than turned to the light side.
What do you think about this theory, lads?
>Luke killed all the jedi he was training for reasons
>doesn't kill kylo because family
>Kylo witnesses the power of the dark side and tries to convince Luke to teach him
>Luke realises what he has done a high tails it out of there
Kinda makes more sense than
>Luke runs away because he thinks he's a failure.
I like the SJW crowd claiming any criticism of Rey or Fin is automatically sexist/racist. They never actually address any of the concerns being brought up, just name call. Real mature.

He is good, but doing bad to hide it. Anakin was bad, but doing good to hide it.
We've never had a Sith/Dark Side user admit the light is calling to them.

check the other threads, faggot

Luke runs away for the same reason as Yoda. Basically failed to identify the Dark side under his nose and feels they've failed utterly. But the difference being Yoda had other contributing factors (complexities) to it which can be easily identified in the actions of ROTS whereas Luke literally has a single sentence explaining everything

>you realize it won't be this easy
It literally was that easy.
I was pretty excited for Phasma, it was a real let down that she only had like five lines and only served to help the rebels in the end.

wrong post, but correct thread.
>>63851633
Just reactionary to the "other side" being genuinely sexist and racist.
They both did fine with the material they were given. If not on par with the original cast, at least a huge step up from anyone in the prequels thanks to sensible casting and direction.

He's a Sith but the movie does make it pretty clear he doesn't command the kind of loyalty and respect Vader did. The general has constant disagreements with him and the Stormtroopers don't seem to respect him.
>>63851717
i think she's going to be a bigger part of episode VIII
i mean she must be pretty fucked off at finn assuming she's still alive
>>63851738
>The general has constant disagreements with him and the Stormtroopers don't seem to respect him.
Ren and the irish General was Vader and Tarkin banter from Episode IV again.
Episode V started to show Vader as the real second in command of the Empire.
>>63851828
It was still a disappointment that she helped them blewing up the Planet without really fighting back.
>>63851828
Yeah i think you're right. Plus isn't there gonna be a spinoff movie about her?
>>63851972
nope.
boba fett, rogue 1, and han solo are the only ones getting spin offs, and Han and Boba fetts are probably the same movie.

Stormtroopers can't shoot for shit when they have their helmets on. As soon as Finn takes his helmet off hes actually pretty good. He might also be force sensitive allowing him god tier luck with his shots. It was nice seeing them humanize the Stormtroopers, even if the new Empire was literal space nazis.
>Kylo stopping laser blast mid air
That was badass as fuck - way more raw power casually displayed than anything Vader/Palpatine ever did. Too bad he was a fucking emo loser who kills his daddy and got his ass kicked by his (probable) cousin. I want to know where Snoke comes into play, where does he get his power from? I think that because this movie raises so many unanswered questions is why it is highly rated. Prequels sucked once we knew Anakin = Vader halfway through Ep2. This movie is Ep IV all over again, but we have no fucking clue how the story arc will go other than speculation. Which apparently some people can't handle now that we live in the world of instant gratification. Maybe Ren sees the light. Maybe Rey goes dark (obligatory Finn - Rey shipping joke). We have a different director for the next one - it wont be stale rehashes every time.
>>63852145
Oh well i guess I'm retarded. Who is rogue 1? I though that was gonna be about phasma...
>>63852336
rogue 1 is the X wing squadron.
>>63852336
Rogue one's basically gonna be a star wars heist movie, complete with X-wings and apparently alot of ground battles
