Wonder Woman is already filming and Nicole Kidman wasn't cast. She was approach very early and passed because of scheduling conflict. So they cast this goddess in her place.
The same goes for Tom Hardy. He was going to do Suicide Squad but because of scheduling conflict. He's producing and acting in the 100 Bullets adaption and has said that he'd love to come back as Bane or do any other role.
George Miller as well. He has the Mad Max sequel and the Man of Steel sequel was shelved. They're waiting to see how Batman v Superman will do. If it is a success i don't doubt that we will see Miller doing Man of Steel 2.
