Earl Montgomery (Martin Lawrence), a bombastic police academy reject, and Hank Rafferty (Steve Zahn), a disgraced, mild-mannered cop, can't seem to escape each other. Following the death of his wife, Naboo police detective Zholl Fett becomes reckless and suicidal. When he is reassigned and partnered with Garyth Fenn, Fett immediately clashes with the older officer. Together they uncover a massive drug-trafficking ring. As they encounter increasingly dangerous situations, Fett and Fenn begin to form a bond. Fetts' volatile behavior might just help them apprehend the criminals -- if it doesn't kill them both first.

Tattoine smugglers find themselves being hounded and harassed by Fett and Fenn, two mismatched Naboo police officers. I know they won't do this, but now that they've eased everyone back into it, the premise of the next one should involve a villain and situations that don't so neatly fit the sith/jedi archetypes and the empire vs. rebels fights.
Have Luke send Rey on a training mission to fight some kind of small-scale crime boss or warlord or something and help some villagers. Something like that. Shit the Jedi are supposed to be doing.
Kylo and company can show up at the end, or better yet, have their own adventure that leads to a bigger show down in IX.
I dunno, it would just be nice to get a break, because if we have three more movies that just ape the struggles and character types of OT, it's going to get a little fucking tiring
