I don't know if aliens who are caricatures of real world ethnic groups count as diversity, but it's probably what Lucas was thinking when he put them in.

>>63819358
I'll take some "forced diversity" over Lucas' brand of schlock any day.

In the first ten minutes of the movie we get more of a reason for Poe and Finn to be bros than we ever get in the entire of the prequels for Anakin and Obi-wan to be friends.

Re-watching this, it honestly feels more like Star Wars than TFA, which I just saw last night.
>>
Let's be honest, The Phantom Menace is ten times better than TFA, prequels are massively underrated because of quirky redditors "le prequels are bad mmmkay epic maymay", Lucas is a fantastic director and a real human being, try to watch Red Tails if you want to see a good war movie. Hating on Lucas or prequels is literally reddit-tier

The prequels are crap and nobody disagreed with this until 48 hours ago when The Force Awakens was released. All of a sudden, people want to pretend Lucas was a good filmmaker after the 70s.

Fuck off.

I hardly see any people writing on these boards about how good were the prequels, if anything, TFA does nothing to fuel the general hatred the fanbase has for the movies

>>
>>63819925

>but you watched them enough times to convince yourself they were okay.

"okay" is the best way to describe the film in terms of its writing. I like the movie a little less now that I'm older because I recognize many of its problems, but unlike an autistic redditor (ie yourself), I'm actually able to weigh the good and bad objectively and come to an educated conclusion.

"Ambitious" and "expanding the Star Wars universe" says nothing of the overall quality of the writing, moreover so again your post here just makes you look stupid, but I do count these as merits to the film's credit and it's certainly more than can be said for Abram's cash grab schlock that plays on people's lowest emotional heartstrings, including their nostalgia for a movie they could just watch at home for free or watch a re-screening of if they want that same genuine "feel" again, and which also relies on meme hatred for the prequels like they're "da wurst movies everrrrr. JAR JAR KILLED STAR WARS, GUYZ" which already is becoming exhaustive.

I've seen them around 3 times over the last decade but alright. OT is a 9/10. Prequels are a 7/10...would have been an 8/10 if Clones didn't drag it down somewhat.

I've seen the OT a million times, though...and so has my son.

For fucks sake, change the fucking record.

It's literally becoming NO BLACK PEOPLE ALLOWED with you guys. Any time you see a non white character in a mainstream franchise you shit the bed, you're just as bad as the SJW's complaining about the lack of diversity in fucking Medieval movies.
>>
>>63820417

you so far haven't actually proven the prequels are exceptionally suckish (any more than the average sci-fi movie) in any way except by appealing to the consensus of equally autistic manchildren

Also, very few people here are saying the prequels are astounding to any degree, we're just not trying to fit in by seeing who can jerk oneself to how bad they are like your ilk do and at least respecting what they did that was right. At their best, they can reach 7 or 8/10, at their worst, they're 5 or 6/10 but still watchable. Again, I can at least appreciate them for the amount of work that went into them and how they tried to push the envelope of the sci-fi genre, if nothing else.

But memesters just care about earning internet points for saying the most witty insult. But of course, we've seen now the kind of glorified kike-produced fanfiction they'll gobble up. And now more people are waking up and realizing that for as bad as the prequels could get, they at least weren't so heartless and realizing that half the people who insult the prequels are completely clueless about what went wrong with them.

at least they didn't pander with Windu by having him talk in an anachronistic way.

I'd have to say that Samuel L Jackson was a miscast for a wise calm jedi.
Billy D williams was cast perfectly
>>
>>63820659
>Then why do you defend the shit prequels?

Because they aren't nearly as bad you pretend them to be so you can look funny or make believe you're patrician.

If you defend The Force Awakens but hate the prequels so much, you're literally just a reddit-tier memer who only wants rehashed garbage and have absolutely no right to criticize the prequels, as bad as they could be, because your solution to make a better Star Wars movie is just to make an inferior carbon copy of A New Hope to relive that "feeling."
>>
>>63819358
