Go and try to explain why Max von Sydow had one piece of the map leading to Luke, who hid away cause he wanted to get away from it all (yet somehow leaves a map behind so you can find him after all). Very unlike Luke to leave Leia etc. behind in the first place.

To be honest for me it was the ending that I didn't like. I really liked Kylo Ren and Boyega and Oscar together were cool as shit. For me the ending should have been with Kylo trashing Rey and Finn and in the scene when Rey grabs the lightsaber should have been Luke saying something like "This ends here" or some shit. The thing is from what I understood from the movie Luke went into exile cause he was dissapointed and a bit afraid of the failure of the new jedi order, I like to think that he ight thought that this "jedi and sith" shit always brings chaos to the galaxy and he tried to get away so that everyone were safe of another intergalactic "dark side/light side" conflict. But maybe then he felt compelled to comeback after the destruction of a whole planet which reminded him of the empire. You can sort of hint that his introduction with all the pilots gettin rekt in the oscillator battle and then a super old x-wing comes and starts to fuck major shit up, and the other pilots are like "who the fuck is that??".
But this is just my stupid idea of course

The prequels were much better written, they had actual characters and story, not a bunch of memes and one-liners that lack any emotion or coherence. Luke is a cliched everyboy "hero" that goes through an absurdly rapid transformation between the fifth and the sixth episodes. Anakin's emotional instability and his exposure as a psychopath are gripping; and his doomed relationship with Padme is touching. In the "original trilogy" Han, Leia, Darth Vader and Obi Wan are complete meme characters, nothing about them is remotely believable or human. And why doesn't anyone care about deaths in those movies? Leia's planet destruction, Luke's stepparents' death, all of the blown up rebels--the list could go on--all the deaths are forgotten moments later.
As for direction, the movies from the "original trilogy" were mostly incoherent, badly edited and full of logical problems. The prequel trilogy is a work of a "vulgar auteur". Try IMDB after you fail to kill yourself.
