He isn't actually conflicted. He appears to be heavily influenced by Snoke (or nu-Sheev) and any atrocities he commits aren't because of personal philosophy but because an evil guy is using battle meditation. I know it was too much hoping for a second Vader or Sheev, someone who *enjoys* being a bad guy, but this mopey fuck is just terrible.
