Bane's Rule of Two was the most successful creation of the Sith. It stopped infighting because that's how the Sith empire crumbled in the new canon. They always ended up in massive civil wars. They had ruled the galaxy but it fell apart and the Jedi took advantage of it. Bane changed it all and they lasted for hundreds of years.
It works because of strength and the Sith ended up getting the most powerful being to ever exist. If Sidious and his master werent pants on head retarded, they would have ruled forever.
