Red pill me on the gun situation in America. I live in Britain and after one school shooting we banned guns completely like 20 years ago so there arent really any shootings anymore. Why shouldn't America do the same? Surely if all guns were gone there would be less shootings like sandy hook?

Gun crime has gone down since the 80's but gun ownership has gone up.
Most deaths caused by guns in the US are caused by either 1. suicide (if we ban guns, they'll just use something else) or 2. gang violence (they use illegal guns anyways, banning guns will barely effect this)
People that want to ban guns are easily influenced by bi-annual mass shootings news stories.
Banning guns was easy Australia and the UK since they're islands. We share borders with Mexico, and a lot of illegal guns come from there.
