When will people understand that Star Wars is simply a product of its time.

>standard "LE GOOD VS BAD" plot
>BUT SPACE SHIT
It was only received so well because of the date it released in, the Prequels were literally better in their acting and were bombed because by then we had seen epics like Goodfellas, Casino, Shawshank Redemption etc all with morally grey protags and deeper inner conflict and fantastic acting. Star Wars will never be good in this era, we've been exposed to actually good writing and acting, something the originals never had in the first place.
Even Psycho (Hitchpenis) has aged horribly, the acting is horrendous, effect are gastly, plot is horribly generic and the cinematography while ingenious isn't enough to carry the dated movie. Sure it wasn't any of those things at the time but it sure as shit nowadays.

I only watched the movies as an adult. I was pretty surprised how generic the plot of IV was. I get that the special effects were something special then, but so was Citizen Kane and ain't nobody obsessed with that these days.
Do have to wonder how successful SW would be without the major cashing in by Lucas on every product imaginable and keeping it in the present.
no one cares about the story of morals in Star Wars, the most important thing for flicks like these is the entertainment
