Kind of reminds me of the Breaking Bad Finale. The real climax was Ozymandias / The Castle, and this was more just about ending the narrative arc of the characters.

Milligan's story is done.
All his philosophical shit throughout the season showed he was a relic of a time gone by, and as shown in his final scenes a relic no longer wanted. Main Street America being shoved unwillingly and violently into modern Corporate America.
Easily the best part of the S2 finale, probably one of the better characters they've ever used, and it needs to stay that way with the exception of the inevitable Coen Bros universe easter egg in future projects.

Honestly, the finale raised way more questions than it should have, and if they don't resolve these loose ends in a new series, I will be very disappointed.
Such a shame, because the rest of the season was fantastic, but I guess the finale was doomed to be a let down.
