To anyone questioning why /who/ remains a general year long:
Doctor Who isn't just a TV show, there's lots of other media released often (we have a big John Hurt audio series releasing on Monday for example) like audio stories, comics, books, etc. That, plus the fact the show has over 50 years of history, means there is much more to always talk about. It's not like GOT where there's just the books and the show, and there's a proper "offseason", because Doctor Who has something release at least every two or three weeks.
That's not even mentioning the fact we have an episode airing on Christmas which is very soon.

So what exactly happened to Rassilon in Hell Bent? Did he just get in a ship and leave to just wander around in exile? Technically they never even showed him leaving, it was just "Get off his world" -- NEXT UNRELATED SCENE. Very abrupt and jarring. The entire subplot with Rassilon was the least fulfilling thing ever.

There was a brief shot of a shuttle leaving the city which was interrupted by the "Lord President, here's the situation" line before it even ended. However, one of the Timelords did point out there's not much out there for Rassilon to see as the universe was very very old by then. So, Rassilon's jobbing was pretty bad in Hell Bent, him and the entire High Council leaving like they'd been a bit too drunk in a nightclub? nahcunt. nah. So, bring 'em back as a villainous group in series 10, and get Rassilon to the level of ruthless and crazy he was in End Of Time, to the point where he is doing anything, and recruiting anyone to take on Gallifrey. Cybermen, Sontarans, whatever, just Rassilon at the head of a massive invasion force ready to go nuclear on Gallifrey.

Okay, so idea for the new companion, have someone who impresses The Doctor with their intelligence (human standards) but is somewhat naive to social interaction on Earth, let alone throughout Time and Space. So basically someone intelligent, slightly socially awkward, but perceptive, and always asking questions, but unlike previous companions, the questions always seem to be the right ones, at the right times.It's later revealed that she's a Gallifreyan spy sent by the New High Council to keep an eye on The Doctor, who they no longer trust (Makes sense considering how much sway he has with Gallifrey, the new High Council is scared they'll get dicked over like the last lot) By S11, the new comp acts as a sort of handler for The Doctor, relaying info to Gallifrey, and getting him to do shit for Gallifrey (think Genesis of the Daleks, but with shadier reasons behind the missions)

How OP are the Gallifreyans/Time Lords /who/?
IIRC Natives of Gallifrey all evolved by gradual exposure to the Space/Time Vortex as a species. Then Rassilon altered the entire baseline of Gallifreyan DNA
So Normal Gallifreyans have Triple DNA (Rassilon giving them all the 3rd Strand) which allows for regeneration.
Time Lords(who pass the tests) are directly exposed to the Eye of Harmony which mutates them even further, giving them their 4th DNA Strand and even more powers.
They have machines/conceptions that can travel through all fixed points in Space and Time. De-Mat guns which retroactively remove their targets from existence.
Their Transduction Barriers/Sky Trenches are arguably the most broken defenses in fiction.

Why the hell don't all Time Lords hate the Doctor with a passion?
I mean think about it. Time Lords have the inborn ability that they can sense time's very essence. So can their TARDISes, their primary method of transport and research.
They can even sense when something wierd is going on with time. Their TARDISes can even glitch out when such an event occurs.
Now because the Doctor keeps going around messing with the universe, changing time one way or another in smaller ways, that would make it stand to reason that as long as the Time Lords are in the same universe, they can and do notice when he fucks something up, which keeps happening all the time.
This means they constantly get a physical reminded that the Doctor is a thing. That the Doctor is out there, and that the Doctor is doing his bullshit uncontrolled time altering.
Now consider how many times the Doctor almost unravelled the very fabric of existence, destroying all that is, was or ever may be.
Imagine being a Time Lord, and being aware of all of this.
Imagine knowing, that every time you get a chill down your neck, it's because the Doctor is fucking around in victorian England, and for all you know, in a few moments, you might no even have existed because the Doctor made a wrong step.
I cannot imagine the kind of shit he'd have to pull in the Time War to make up for literally being the source of all existential nightmares on Gallifrey.

Yeah, your avarage Time Lord definetly has the insight into how the Doctor going against all of their security protcols that have been invented to stop time from un-existing, is completely justified in his constant risking of existence, because he has the moral high ground, and has plot armour that makes it so that he always figures out a way.

Admittedly the only thing I've seen of Omega is the Three Doctors, where he sees being trapped in the Anti-Matter universe as some betrayal on the part of the Time Lords, hence him fucking them (and by extension, the universe) up, so him going nuclear on Gallifrey wouldn't be a stretch.
