Will the next 3 be any good?
i seriously doubt it
Nope.
I really don't know what they can do that they didn't do in the first one though. I mean, the whites could show back up and we could have a rehash of the first but besides that I donno.
>>63556290
>I mean, the whites could show back up
Well they kinda have to, by every synopsis they were after the unobtanium because either human survival or human civilization depended on it. So "the space indians sent us away" isn't going to cut it back home.

>there are people so obsessive that they study a fictional language for four fucking movies
>three of them aren't even out yet
Even Klingon is more useful than this shit.
I feel sorry for the poor linguistics professor that made it; NEETs and autists will be trying to talk to him in it for the rest of his career.
>>63556380
yeah i guess you are right. I thought they were there because the unobtanium was just super expensive and they were looking to make a buck. I don't see any other antagonist besides them though. Maybe some tribe warfare which could be fun to watch
Avatar 2.
James Cameron is planning to shoot some footage seven miles underwater in the Challenger Deep, the deepest point of the Mariana Trench and also the deepest location on earth.
>>63556380
It's about pride, too. What does the US military do when a company of marines loses ground? They come back later with an entire brigade and more firepower.
>>63556477
>I thought they were there because the unobtanium was just super expensive
Yeah that's why I qualified my post "by every synopsis", in the movie it's introduced just as being ridiculously valuable. In reviews, summaries, official EU stuff they all describe it as the foundation of that age's technology, basically *the* resource that keeps things running. I think they cut that bit out of the movie because the early reviewers couldn't help pointing out that the movie would have you root against humanity's survival, and greed was a simpler villain.
Has there ever been a less consequential blockbuster than Avatar? People still reference Titanic all the time, but I swear the entire public forgot about Avatar six months after it came out.
Avatar 2 will be a massive bomb unless he releases it in 2025 to cash in on nostalgia for the late 2000s.
>>63556757
Well it did kickoff the last few years' use of 3D for blockbusters. But largely no, otherwise the movie itself didn't matter.
>>63556092
The first one was shit, why would they?
>>63556554
Fun fact: Cameron only did Titanic because he wanted to screw around in the ocean too.
Dude pretty based
Typical butthurt itt.
It still blows my mind that this movie made over 2 billion. Like what the fuck mane.
I liked it though.
>>63556392
Didn't people literally commit suicide when it came out because they would never live in a world so perfect?
Or was that just a meme?
leaked photo of humanity's role in avatar 2
>>63556554
Pointless. Just CGI it.
>>63557899
In the Avatar setting there are other aliens on other planets, Pandora and the Na'vi is just the tip of the iceberg.
>>63556092
question should be "Will the next 3 ever come out?"
I think Jim has realized that Avatar hasn't made quite the impact he hoped for, people have kinda forget about it.
>>63557899
I would watch the movie a dozen times if Space Marines and Imperial Guardsmen landed in the millions on the planet and totally destroyed the aliens. That's what I was hoping for the entire movie.
I just wanted to see some dead xenos.
I doubt they'll make past 1.5 billion. I honestly don't believe avatar's box office numbers are real. I remember reading planted news about their being devoted fans that learned the navi language in the first week which made no damn sense. It felt very much like the work of the illuminati trying to recreate the scifi hit.
Very glad I never saw this furry shit.
I just got done watching the first Avatar. Was it good?
>tfw there will never EVER be a movie as great as Avatar
>>63557220
Holy shit, you're still around?
>>63560536
Of course,

Did you like it? If so, yes. It was good.
>>63560976
I don't usually binge-watch movies this quickly, so I wanted to see what /tv/ thought.
>>63560976
But how will he know which opinion is the correct one? He needs to drone someone you know.

Cameron is just too based.

#1 shitposter of all time who changed shitposting forever
>>63561199

>>63556092
No because...
>Dances With Wolves never had a squeal so he can't rip off that plot line

Just one week until the shitposting begins. Can't wait.
