But regardless it wasn't that. Any sequel for a long running film series, which seemingly gave itself a conclusion 9 years ago, which then comes back with a brand new character is going to make me skeptical. I enjoyed every moment though. The romance part didn't feel tacked on either. 9 times out of 10 I wish I could fast forward all the relationship shit in movies like this.

The Good Dinosaur was actually a really good movie, however it is also just another nameless CGI kid's movie with no staying power or quality marketing. There's no draw to computer animated films anymore now that they're a dime a dozen, so the only things that will bring in the dosh are princess movies, Shrek, and Toy Story. If there wasn't literally only one traditionally animated film from the past 12 years and Disney didn't have a habit of making a shitload of forgettable CGI movies about nothing, it might have garnered enough interest to get the respect (and money) it deserved.
