I used to really like Series 4 and 10/Donna is good but I rewatched and was pretty disappointed because a lot of the episodes I remember liking I thought were boring/shit now.
>Partners In Crime - The Adipose are way worse than I remember, I used to think they were some sort of satire on Weight Loss stuff or something but they don't actually satire anything. The female villain is really bad, not even in a intentional campy way either. Also the ending is just 10/Donna fiddling with a computer in a basement for like 10 minutes or so. There are some good 10/Donna scenes but the rest is just ugh.

Take apart any series, and you'll find that four great episodes is actually pretty damn good. The much-loved Series 5 only has Amy's Choice, The Lodger, The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang IMO (I'm not a huge 11th hour fan).
Honestly I actually think Series 1 has the most "brilliant" episodes.
Fires of Pompeii is pretty good though senpai, it's funny until the gutpunch ending.
RTD angled the show much more to a dated event TV style which doesn't hold up as well as Moffat's experiements. Even when they fail (the arc of Series 6), the fantastic episodes remain (God Complex, Doctor's Wife, Girl Who Waited)
Series 8 is my fav series and hell, it only has 2 brilliant episodes IMO (Listen and Kill the Moon). Quality of a series is more than quality of individual episodes.

I watched all of new Who up to Tennant's regeneration recently and felt pretty much the same. 10/Donna were better than most of the stories they were in and carried it.

That's quite difficult, to be honest. I understand how Moffat must feel after he's finished a series.
So here's how it'd work out:
The Doctor, Clara and Missy discover someone put a bounty on their heads and they're now the most researched beings of the entire universe. They find out about the prophecy of the Hybrid, who is supposed to be the destroyer of Time and Space and come from the merging of two warrior species. Then they find out the Time Lords have sent out that bounty so that they can contact the Doctor, Clara and Missy so they can help them find out who the Hybrid is. The Time Lords reveal they know a bit more about the prophecy: the Hybrid is supposed to conquer Gallifrey and stand in its ruins and they're afraid of it so they required the Doctor's help. Something goes wrong, and the Doctor and Clara are revealed to be the Hybrid in a shocking twist where they become somehow the masters of Gallifrey, that they've destroyed somehow. The twist is that the Time Lords have engineered their own end, the destiny trap, like in Time of the Doctor. Missy is somehow the good guy and the Doctor and Clara are forced to part ways. Also the Time Lords would try to kill Clara so the hybrid can't exist.

Yeah, my favourite duo since McCoy & Aldred. I'm excited to see what the new companion of 12's will be like but I'm gonna miss all the great two hander scenes between 12 and Clara. It's gonna take a lot for there to be anything as compelling to me as their interactions in Dark Water, or their last ones in Hell Bent. They had a complex relationship that could show conflict as well as a deep bond. Capaldi and Coleman did great work together. They probably won't work together again on other projects which is a shame. I'd like them to do something besides Who like Tennant and Tate did.
