Holy shit, this movie is BAD. It's legitimately terrible. It WANTS to be an old-fashioned Bond film, but it also wants to be a Craig new-Bond film. In the end it's neither. It's trying to have its cake and eat it, too, but it just winds up as a fat kid without any cake.

They had fucking Christoph Waltz playing it and they make him say banal stuff that hardly make him threatening at all, "i am the author of all your pain, james" and then they just stare at each other and we should be fucking engaged in this, but no they're discussing as if it was all part of a snobish soirée at the chateau de versailles!

I also like how Bautista in interviews was like "i'm playing an interesting character" and then you find out he just has one line "oh shit". Oh yeah you're not just one more big henchman. Maybe the most interesting stuff about him is his name: Hinx.

This bond film felt really post-modern, like it was aware of its genre. It didn't take any risks and played like a casual bond movie. It had a very sustained feeling to it. It wasn't much, but it wasn't little.
