Why doesn't tony just build a suit out of the extremely rare metal? Vibranium?
I'm not saying every part of it is vibranium, I'm just saying they're like the outer shell (face plate, chest plate, knee guard, shoudler guard, feet, etc...). It just covers Tony up so he has defense AND the ability to modify the core components.
Meaning the vibranium parts can be used on ALL Ironman suits.

I believe he keeps making new ones because autism. He's really obsessed with it, in case you didn't notice when he had about 40 new armors made in between Avengers and Iron Man 3. His boner for them has dropped down since then, apparently, but he still had 3 new ones in AoU and another one in Civil War (maybe more, we don't know, but apparently he does have two different helmets -see promo art >>63490262 vs trailer and posters-).
As for the Vibraninum, maybe he has one in Civil War made of Vibranium that we just haven't seen, who knows.
