Why does no one ever talk about Alan Parker as a director?

I mean the guy was never someone on the Scorsese level but he was definitely a strong director.

I think this was his best film even though I personally enjoy Mississippi burning more

Because clearly 00's directors understand the hip youth of today better.

And theres plenty of others that died out too. Peter Weir most notably, but Friedkin, Verhoeven, John Boorman. Who else?

I actually met Friedkin at one point at a screening for Killer Joe. My god, he's an angry old man who absolutely hates the industry today and what he describes as the "hero horseshit" clogging up cinema.

But its true. If i was him, id fucking move to Europe like Allen. It's the only way to get the integrity you want.

I wish I could meet Friedkin simply so I could tell him how much I love and appreciate Sorcerer.

Haven't seen it. Are you commenting because it's a good film or a shit film?
>>
>>63463524
good, its fantastic just radically different

I fucking love Alan Parker, shame he doesn't get more love on /tv/. Midnight Express is a great film, as is the Wall. And he did one of my favorite films of all time Angel Heart.

I actually haven't seen Mississippi Burning. I guess I should try tho.
