Yeah this was my biggest problem with it.
I also feel that they made the Indians weird cannibals with neck whistles to not appear racist but I might be reading too much into it. Regardless the film would have been better with just regular Indians.

The traveling scenes with Patrick Wilson was 15-20 minutes too long. I mean, watching a man on crutches skip along in rough terrain only holds so much entertainment-value.
I watched this at x1.20 and even the dialogue still appeared perfectly normal.
