Everything I loved as a child has been resurrected and shit upon over the last decade. Doctor Who,Sherlock Holmes,Transformers,Turtles,Star Wars...

The Church's genetically engineered priests don't make any sense. Between enjoying killing innocent people and acting like they don't know who the Doctor is for no reason and trying to enslave the human race. This one was a mess. They tried to explain some of it away in Time of the Doctor, but it wasn't enough, and even created more problems.
And that's it. The other finales make perfect sense by the rules set up by the narrative. Most of you are crying about plot holes when you're just mad things that are actually irrelevant to the plot going on don't get explained properly: You don't need to know who the Hybrid is yet. You don't need to know who blew up the Tardis yet, etc.

The hybrid thing was just a ruse pretty much on the Doctor's part guys, and Moffat's. Lately he's been doing this thing where it appears he's setting up something Big Finish-y, but then he takes a left turn and makes it a character moment. Just like Let's Kill Hitler ended with people standing around talking, the hybrid was never going to be a thing. This wasn't a failure to achieve, he sets out to do this, sucking you in with the whizz-bang stuff then taking things a bit deeper with characters.
You might not care for this approach of course, but these are conscious choices he's making. If you only care for the whizz-bang stuff, stick with Big Finish or maybe the next Gatiss script.
