I did enjoy the walk through the park, but the rest was vapid. I'm glad he used a trained actor this time (the lead in enter the void was fucking awful), but he still seemed wooden, and frankly untalented.

I like it. The film revolves around a rather juvenile character so it makes sense that there is so many cringeworthy moments in it. His life is cringe. He is an overgrown baby slave of his impassive emotions. The film's messages come across really hamfisted but you got to understand this film is aimed at the young of the mind. I like it for what it is, achieves perfectly what is set out to do, also Noe is an absolute wizard and is one of the few autheurs that can make his films work in the same rythmic fluidity of music.

As a huge fan of Noe's I was really dissapointed with Love. It's far too character heavy for a Noe film. Noe is one of the best visual directors in the world, but he really can't write characters or drama. And with Love, the cinematography is uncharacteristically banal, at least for Noe. Especially after Enter the Void. So I'm left with a kind of wooden melodrama with some nice editing and prolonged sex scenes.
The 'Love Hotel' section at the end of EtV was better than the whole of Love.
