Momento

>implying
the most Nolan movie is probably still the prestige for me but you could make a lot of different arguments
do we know like anything about this guy? he's been working consistently since leaving film school, clearly somewhat maladapted but not reclusive, doesn't use the internet, has an ugly wife, older brother is a contract killer ...
he's demonstrated a thoroughly average intellect and he's a barely proficient technical filmmaker who managed to recapture some kind of third rate kubrick high for nerds but what really makes the guy tick
there's a lot to put together but he really still seems like a cypher to me
I think we all know.
The one with awful script, terrible humour, shite fight choreography, and one dimensional characters
All his movies are masterpieces, it's hard to tell.
>>63407480
But anon this only applies to one of his films and that isnt his best
Memento bruh
>>63407270
I kind of feel bad for hating him now. He's probably just as confused about his success as I am.
Prestige, Interstellar and Memento are criminally underrated.
Inception will be remembered as an absolute classic.
>>63407270
>has an ugly wife
God damn, I didn't expect her to be that ugly.
Now I feel bad for Chris, he deserves better.
>>63408064
>met at uni aged 19
>he is a nerdy fag
>stuck with him to his success
hurr durr leave her chris

She's a script editor and producer.
If they divorce, Chris is going to become George Lucas.

He's a great writer and comes up with incredible ideas but his execution lets him down sometimes, especially with action.
I'd like to see a deep sea movie made by him or an Oceans 11 type heist trilogy.
>>63408166
Nolan is so full of himself it borders on cannibalism.
His scripts are dreck and he has no idea how to properly and effectively handle visuals.
>>63408181
>He's an incredibly lazy writer and steals incredible ideas
fixed desu
>>63408166
Did you just put random numbers in front of the movie titles?
That's some awful taste.
>>63408166
>TDKR better than The Prestige
>TDKR better than Batman Begins
All memes aside, TDKR is easily his weakest movie by a long way.
>>63408181
No, he's a good writer who has great ideas but has weaknesses with exposition and writing female characters. His action is also lacking slightly.
He's an overall good director, but he isn't amazing. He's better than 99% of Hollywood though, especially when it comes to blockbusters.
The best part of TDKR will always be how Batman evades anti air missiles in his slow as fuck bat helicopter thingy. Those missiles are designed to fly several times the speed of sound and in the movie they are snail-like and take sharp corners to follow Batman. What a joke.
>>63408224
TDKR is a pretty good film with weak points such as the dialogue and the fact Nolan phoned it in.
And yes, it's better than Batman Begins, it's more entertaining and fun.
The Prestige was a bore. I was surprised I didn't like it as much after hearing how great it was. Based David Bowie is in it though.
>>63408239
The Bat is a billionaire's military tech vehicle. Of course it can.
>>63408239
What about how inept CIA was?
>>63408064
His wife gets him all the connections. Motherfucker can't communicate with anyone else by hmself
>>63408224
Insomnia is way worse than TDKR. At least the latter was an interesting failure to give a fuck rather than insomnia's completely boring failure to give a fuck.
>>63408277
Someone. Hothead. Out.
>>63408110
If you swapped god tier and top tier you'd have a good list. Inception is a meme movie with absolutely no substance.
>>63409369
I was considering swapping Inception with Interstellar, however, while I enjoy Interstellar more than Inception, it has slightly more flaws.
