They get a lot of hate, but a lot of TV tries to imitate what they did first.
It's not the most original style, per se. They even say in the commentary track for T&EAS season 1 that they just act like idiots in front of a green screen, then hand it off to Doug Lussenhop for post. But hell if it isn't influential.
