I've got to admit that I was a bit pissed off at how the General's regeneration was handled. Everything about it was written and shot to emphasise how totally progressive they're being. Doctor Who isn't subtle about the SJW stuff at the best of times, but this was the BBC crying out for attention. Tumblr has Doctor Who wrapped around it's little finger, and still they whine about how the show isn't diverse enough.

The plot had nothing in common except the part where someone forgets something. This was to ease pain and avoid becoming self destructive again, not "oh we need a reason to make here leave so lets make her head explode"

What was made to look like a blockbuster finale ended up being a quiet and haunting meditation on the nature of the madman in the box and one of the best episodes in Doctor Who history. Right after another of the best episodes in Doctor Who history of course. I love this show with every cell in my body. Series 9 > any other season of Doctor Who and Doctor Who > anything else.

So the prophecy, thought up by real human writers to be a big part of this story, turned out to be practically nothing. Why bother with it then? Just have the Doctor go back to Gallifrey because he's been looking for it, or trapped and brought back because of something that's actually interesting.

The show isn't actually real. Moffat isn't writing down the history of what happened. "Well, Clara's TARDIS turned into a diner so that's what I have to put in the show."
He decided that a flying diner would be a good idea
I'm kinda satisfied. But All I really wanted was the closest thing to the Doctor declaring war on Gallifrey.
That's what the episode started out as. Until Clara came back into the picture. If the episode was just the Doctor fighting Gallifrey until he realized that it was pointless, then I would've been fully satisfied. That IS what they were hyping Hell Bent to be.
After 10 years, the Time Lords come back as a mere footnote to help the Doctor resurrect his waifu.
And she didn't even become a Time Lady/Hybrid and regenerate so a different actress could play her. GG Moffat.
Few issues I had, but loved it nonetheless.

I liked the character, nothing against the black and female regeneration, but I'd have preferred it to happen to a different Time Lord. Did they imply Ohila was his mother or something? If so, nice. However, did they also imply that he was half-human? Wouldn't that make the previous part nothing? Ashildr being the Hybrid, but this reveal had nothing on Missy being the Master (for those who forget, I literally screamed "WHAT?!"). Turning Clara and Ashildr into a tag-team of time-travelling immortal gals. I dunno, I find the matching odd.

I wanted to see continuation of The End of Time, from the Gallifrey point of view, to see how psycho degenerating electro Simms master regenerated into the seemingly healthy Missy, to know whether Rassilon had regenerated or he was simply extremely aged from billions of years passing, and to know who the mysterious woman in the high council was.
