of all the locations you could choose in star wars, the idea of vader falling into/getting burned by just some random sole volcano is just as comical as a planet covered in lava.
probably one of the few complaints i've heard about prequels where I actually side with george. might as well have some molten boiling rock of a planet if you can make any kind of locale possible seeing how interplanetary travel can be done by a child

It wasn't really the location as much as the execution of it that killed it for me. Volcano, Volcanic planet, both could have worked if done competently.
Rather, It was just as bad as that factory sequence in Attack of the Clones. Any tension there might have been or suspension of disbelief thrown right of the window as they battle soullessly in a CGI set piece for what seems like over an hour in a battle you feel no connection to because it doesn't feel as if there's any sense of reality to it. Hell, it doesn't even look like real volcanic places do, Lucas should have made it more a cross between Venus and Mordor instead of something ripped out of the final boss level of a cheesy video game.

the prequels in general do not function as movies. Sure, they have some good action scenes and the score was good as always, but the story was just awful. The prequels work better as video games where plot doesnt matter.
