Movies tend to be coherent and have plots. This was just a bunch of 4deep8me occult vignettes that show how religions are born and how people use belief systems to get more power over populations than kings or queens ever could.

The only part of the film which is pretentious could be the beggining. As we are introduced to Venus, Zeus, Neptune etc. , everything gets easy to grasp and pretty obvious. I particularly liked the ending scene. I wouldn't expect something like this from a film that old.

would probably appreciate it more if i was a 20 year old college kid who was experimenting with acid. i'm not though so the film was pretty obnoxious to watch and it didn't say anything that needed to be said that hasn't already been said about religion. in the end it was a pointless film that only appeals to hippies.

This was my exact first viewing, 20 years old on 400ug LSD it became my favorite film at the time.
4 years later though rewatching it, it's not quite the 10/10 masterpiece my less experienced younger acid-induced self thought. Still a good flick.

I saw it sober but I thought the film eloquently got to shit on the modern world. Not saying that I'm a leftie or something but it gave an accurate insight to be honest. That's what I appreciated the most.

I hated it the first time I saw it. I was trying to figure out what in the fuck I just watched. Some parts were coherent and made sense to me, but a lot of it was just incomprehensible. I guess that's the point.
