Does anyone know if this film's 3D is prerendered or postrendered?
I usually check http://realorfake3d.com/ but this one isn't on there for some reason.

Yeah, fair call. I make a habit of seeing one movie every week, though, and this week it's a choice between this one and The Night Before.

If I can see this in real 3D, I'll probably do that. If it's shitty postrendered 3D, I'll see the crappy Christmas comedy.

My shitty local theatre isn't showing it in 2D.

there's no point in seeing anything in 3D, save your money. watch something on streaming that you haven't seen before. don't waste your time watching shitty movies you'd just scroll past on Netflix a year later. Don't sanction this shit.

According to wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_3D_films#Feature_films , it's post-rendered.

What's the difference during production? How is pre-rendered 3D achieved?

As someone who isn't in the industry, I would recommend just checking out wiki or whatever for a proper explanation.
Basically, though, you use a stereoscopic camera (just a camera with two side-by-side lenses) as you film, so it's one lens for each eye. Until recently (mid-to-late 2000s), they literally mounted two cameras side-by-side and did it that way.

When it's postrendered, they just go through it on the computer after filming is completed, and make it 3D that way. It's never as good as the real thing.

If you go and see a bunch of 3D movies in theatres, after a while you'll be able to tell which ones are filmed in 3D and which ones aren't.
