What mature and considered film and India as a backdrop was captured beautifully. Why'd it get mixed reviews from critics?
All of Wes Anderson's traits are there, but a little more toned down,a little more considered.
Plus his use of Satjayit Ray's music gave this the GOAT soundtrack.

I imagine it was less well received by critics because it had less jokes.
Personally I'd prefer for Wes to do a more serious movie like this again. But he seems to do best with comedies.
