Green Lantern was probably the worst. They were willing to get weird with Oa and then under-populated it. Oa felt like it was on a soundstage with zero character to it. And then they spent half the movie fucking around on Earth with jokey shit.

Except that's not how comics work. They are still images that you read left to right and up to down. The action is in those still panels. It's just how the medium is read. Panels denote frame by frame movement in different ways. Film is going at multiple frames per second already. A split screen there does something different. It shows co-current events.
That makes as much sense as someone adapting a novel and having scenes that are just text on the screen the audience reads and claiming it works on film because you're adapting from a prose novel.

Movie is a 5 out of 10 at best.
Their problem was they tried to fit 30 different GL story lines into an hour and a half movie. They should have just picked one story and made it good. Instead they gutted and Frankensteined so many different characters and plots that even long time GL fans said this is crap.Still hoping the movie made enough money for a studio to try again with a Hal Jordan movie

It basically took the Emerald Dawn storyline and swapped out the main villain with one they thought would be more important but kept his appearance and powers largely the same, thereby squandering not one, but two potentially good storylines. Saarsgard's Hammond was probably the best in show, actually more terrifying than the comic version but just kind of tossed in their in case the power ring wielding space cop was too unrelateable if he doesn't have an earthbound storyline, I guess?
The Spirit is still the worst tho.
