Do I get a certfificate in food handling and accept my place working at KFC? All I want is to be able to afford my rent and work with people I like producing corporate videos or whatever the fuck for the next 6 months. Doens't help being in melbourne. Shit, I'd photograph santas at this point. Anyone else feeling the burn? I have experience in so many fields, but I wish I had done real estate instead of this shit.

Not that exciting, but the pay is pretty good and it's much better than doing retarded adverts or flippin' boighas. I also have normal work hours and get to sit around in an office able to surf on the internet the whole day. Ain't even mad.

Haven't got much gear to myself but I have some savings after working bullshit jobs (which I should not have quit, I now see) but tend to have very few crew around me at any one time. Gonna knock up a demo reel of cinematography + after effects over xmas, plus some photography bullshit. A niche I've found is actors who want showreels edited, so I'm getting a bunch of those together.

Fucking right on m80. That's the dream for me right now. Not forever, but a year of working like you are would be invaluable. I have some friends who scored post production gigs, one in particular who can't fucking organise a Premiere bin to fucking save his life. Very sad to see him (and some others like him) sign on to do indie productions, put the least effort in and just fuck off to their jobs... If anyone from those sets gets a gig I don't think they'll be getting a hand up, certainly won't from me.
