Are there any recorded shows that talk about cinéma in a non pleb way?
podcasts or filmed roundtables?
it could be reviews or just about anything that talks about films that aren't blockbusters or hollywood bullshit.
>>
The Hollywood reporter made some round tables with DP, directors and writers I believe.

I love that kind of shit

Why, can't you read?

I've enjoyed the first two episodes of this podcast, focussing on Michael Mann and Mike Nichols. Intelligent discussion with one guest.

is there a place (irc or anything) where you guys go to discuss cinema with others?

There's also Travis Bickle on the Riviera, the only movie podcast in the world. Rotating through about 4-5 guests/hosts, they seem to talk about whatever they have been watching recently, whether new or old. They seem to try to be deep but fail to offer any penetrating insights and mostly just enthuse, but still worth a listen once in a while.

i've been listening to a lot of their stuff recently and it's great because of how attentive they are to details and their energy.

I haven't listened to it recently, I think the most recent one I heard was either the Arnold Schwarzenegger episode of the Abel Ferrara one. They have some transwoman who was talking about things like what Schwarzenegger represents and body cinema or something and it was kind of getting a bit too tumblr for me.

There's that James Quandt-edited anthology that Cinematheque Ontario put out years ago.
